No, I'm saying it's TOO convenient to have a button for immediately moving to any specific folder. A "move" function isn't unheard of. However a direct "Move to x folder" is weird to me. As total said, it's probably a way to optimize the system for controllers.

I think that's to more easily identify the separation between each app. For example if you were to add two apps that have a solid red color like the YouTube app, they might blend in. there's also a white border around the icons as well. At first glance it makes the icon look slightly smaller than the rest of the icons next to it, but once you notice the border you can see it's the same size.

??? In what way? The gaps are perfectly symmetrical. It'd look way weirder if they were seamless, almost as if it was a compounded app.

That kind of precision would be near impossible to fake.

That could be caused my many things, including the angle of the camera to the screen or aliasing issues. When you aren't looking at a direct feed from the unit you may see inconsistent pixel spacing like that. I know because I've worked with video for years and have seen it multiple times.

tbh, I feel there only excuse not to include is that they could say to just do splitscreen
though it seems like it is possible for them to do sudo download play as seen with pacman

I feel like pacman and mario kart are two different beasts altogether. mario kart ds was a much smaller game in comparison. I could be wrong, but I feel like to do download play on something like mario kart 8 would require at least 1 or 2 gigs to download, and unless they allowed you to download a portion of the code first off eshop or something ahead of time, doesnt seem like it would work out as well

This is actually not a bad idea, but would need some work. Theoretically you could just download a limited client-side multiplayer client of some games.. Like Mario Kart or any potential Mario Party (dunno why you'd want to use two systems) games for joining a legit came card. It would become clutter after a while though. Hm.

The clutter is why I think they might not want to do it. the Switch already has limited space, even with a microsd card. You would have to keep this data (much larger than compared to DS) on your device for every time you hang out with your friend or play, unless you were going to constantly delete and re-download it as needed.

Unless they were able to keep down the overall file size, as much as I would love download play, I don't think its as manageable as in the past.
