Really I don't think nintendo cares much.... Maybe the software developers investors do, but I doubt even that.

Thrust said:Its strange how it seems like all the threads before were so excited for a 3DS flashcart, and now that one appears to be complete the community is in an uproar, I just dont understand it. A 3DS flash cart would be a nice way to save a few bucks, or to give games a try I wouldnt otherwise pick up, But even as a veteran pirate I'd rather not do so on this system, especially with the vita coming out so soon. Nintendo needs all the help they can get on this one.
Also yes this thread temporarily brought me out of hiding, always was more of a lurker than a poster around here
Do you really think Nintendo cares about whether or not you can run unsigned code? As far as they're concerned, the ability to run games from a flashcart means the system has been 'hacked' from their point of view.spinal_cord said:CJL18 said:LOL nintendo said it would be unhackable and it took 6months to break it open and this will lead to even bigger things in about 3months i see the 3ds being complely open you can bet one damn thing nintendo is shitting there pants right now
Premature LOL friend. The system is not in any way broken, not has it been hacked. When you copy music from one audio cassette to an other, then played the copied song on your stereo, do you then say your stereo has been hacked? No, you don't.
Being able to run a 1:1 copy of some software from a different device is about as far away as you can get from 'hacking' a system. For the 3DS to be called hacked, someone would have to find a way to run unsigned native code on it, which nobody has done, therefore, '6months to break' is not only optimistic, it's just plain wrong. Until the first real 'Hello World' appears and people can run it themselves, you can be certain that the 3DS security is fully in tact an unbroken.

It's been said in the thread a few times already, but one of the last things to get developed is a GUI that can load the ROM.adriande2 said:At the moment, it seem like it emulates the rom 1:1. It does not appear to be anywhere close to a flashcard that could be sold. As I've seen it can only play commercial roms. Even if you could use homebrew with this, it looks like you would have to use software to switch what game can be used, causing some trouble.
I know it's the first flashcard for the 3DS but I want to see SD/MicroSD card usage, an interface, and homebrew being used.
Using the Crown 3DS, you can pirate 3DS games. That is all what matters in the end to Nintendo, you did not buy original software.mechagouki said:Extreme Coder said:Do you really think Nintendo cares about whether or not you can run unsigned code? Actually, you're wrong, what it means is that their removable media solution has been hacked, the 3DS remains unaltered. while the Crown team may have imitated the copy protection contained within a 3DS pak, this does not currently give them any ability to change things on the 3DS itself, it remains the same machine, before and after being used with the Crown system.
Doesn't change the fact you were wrong about it being hacked.Extreme Coder said:Using the Crown 3DS, you can pirate 3DS games.
