I upgraded (on emuMMC partition) my a half-broken(dodgy USB C port), banned Switch I don't really care that much about. I tested a handful of games I like, retroarch, daybreak (used to upgrade from 14.1.2), mgba, and everything seems fine. Is there any reason not to upgrade my good Switch? i.e. some killer hombrew or game that broke?

Most (all?) the 15.0.0 problems I can find on here are people not being careful when they upgrade Hekate, Lockpick, patches, Atmosphere, and finally the firmware.

Did you read all the threads about updating, Atmosphère, Hekate, firmware and sigpatches? on all the threads are explained the changes and tell you DO NOT UPDATE unless there is a game you can not play without upgrading (by the date NO game need new firmware)

I mean sure, but some people might want to update someday, especially since those games will exist. I haven't cought up, is there a thread explaining the changes?

Sure, and on the threads are the steps for updating, and the notes about software not updated yet, almost all the sysmodules need to be updated to the new LIBNX and LIBNX was updated to support the new firmware. so unless you really need update now, it's safe to wait some weeks, the programmers do the work on his spare time and get no money for it so all we need to be supportive and wait.

Short Answer: yes.
Long Answer: well, yes! It was a massive change so some homebrews broke
OK, which ones?

And is it known what these massive changes are? At least in a vague, hand-wavey sense. N is, as usual, far from forthcoming in their announcements.

I have not drilled deep into github, but it looks like the Switch HB scene is pretty dead anyway, with the exception of a few must-haves which can be counted on two hands with a finger or two left over. Why is this? Cease and desists? Or is it just hard to port stuff. I'm not blaming anyone except possibly the overcat Nintendo for constantly pulling the rug out from under everyone with (possibly malicious) updates.

I'm not telling everyone to upgrade or not upgrade. Just curious.

Out of all homebrew tools and plugins I use, only mission control is broken since it's needs to apply a bluetooth ips patch. An update is already out and fixed the issue. Also NXThemesInstaller is broken as always, but it's been updated as well. Fizeau has been broken since 14.0.0, and seems like the project has been abandoned.

Everything else works perfectly fine, like tesla menu, oc suite, status monitor overlay, saltynx, edizone/breeze, etc..
