What would this achieve?

No. That'd be something implemented into nds-bootstrap.
The included nds-bootstrap version does have a potential fix for certain DS mode homebrew.
Curiosity mostly. It would be neat to flash maybe small homebrew that is independent of extra data.

How do I exit a game and back to DS mode without pressing home and quitting TW everytime?
I looked up various combinations, like holding L+Down+Select, L+R+Down+Select, L+R+Down+B, etc. Nothing works

Those button combos only work when running a DS(i) game that isn't homebrew.
Make sure TWiLight Menu++ is up to date as well.

If you've already made sure of those, then you might be using an O3DS/O2DS model, which is known to not work with returning to TWLMenu++.

@RocketRobz
The themes are not in the list to choose from in the settings.

Can I ask where the themes that come with TM are located at?
When you download a skin, you'll know which theme it goes to. If it's for the DSi theme, it goes to the "dsimenu/themes/" folder. For 3DS, the "3dsmenu/themes/" folder.
Did you press A while the cursor is on the current theme in TWLMenu++ Settings?

Thanks! I had no idea it worked like that.

Can R4i themes work with it like the Wood R4 version?

I have New 2DS XL and 2023.06.05 version of TWMenu.

    BigOnYa @ BigOnYa: I played the intro to far cry 5, that is like some crazy Jim Jones cult shit. Still its petty...
