Hacking Friend bricked an o3DS (black screen) while installing a9lh, any fixes?

He was installing a9lh and he said he had gotten a brick during a certain part and now he cannot boot up his 3ds and gets a black screen. He said he would've gone into recovery mode but since his R button is completely broke he cannot boot into it. Any way to fix it? He doesn't mind the brick tho since he is getting an n3ds during that sale.

Does he have arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of the card?
Does the console blink the power light without the SD card in?
Had he followed every single troubleshooting step in Plailect's guide?

make sure he isn't trying to boot in 2.1 with the sd inside the console, if he didnt delete homedata manually, that could prevent the console from booting properly on 2.1.


or maybe he didnt brick.. and instead installed successfuly. but because he is in 2.1 he cant boot sysnand with luma, make it press select to see if luma's configuration pops up.
