Homebrew gbaemu4ds: GBA emulator for DS(i) (DSi Entry)

Is the graphic better if you use the sc Version and the upper screen on a 3DS

  • I can't do that (have no 3DS) (have not tested that)

Hi, I have a problem. I'm using r4 card, ds lite and r4 wood firmware, and newest emulator version.
When I choose the game and then set all settings, one screen goes
CPU load ROM ... Generating file map (size 2622152 byte) ok
CPU init
CPU reset
CPU read battery life ... OK
Bios _register ram reset
DMA copy
Arm7init
Irqinit
Emulateedbiosstart
Ndsmode
GBA init
Gbamode 2
Jump to (02134000

And the second screen is white.
Any help??
Support for this emulator ended long ago, and compatibility was never high.
As suggested above, either purchase a GBA flashcart or give up on GBA emulation on DS.

Has anyone forked this to keep it going, and if not, why the fuck not? This is the most progress anyone's seen and gotten for an R4i version of a GBA emulator. Some of the emulator gurus around here should help this project (or a fork) if they can, it would be greatly appreciated. I'd even donate to whoever improves upon his emulator.

First of all a more accurate DS emulator is required.

Also everyone moved to 3DS development now.

As much as I admire 3DS development of GBA emulation, it's sad to see that the NDS never got a good emulator for GBA. couldn't get any games to load from either of those "latest" releases, it keeps telling me there's a memory problem loading the rom. So I give up until I buy my N3DS later this week, and retire my 2DS I bought last April.

The latest No$GBA actually supports some/most of the DSi TWL cpu! its getting closer, however sadly you are correct. Times a changing, and continuing to move on, better things and more processing power. Not bad for a ~10 year old console(in DS-mode nonetheless), and a program that did the impossible. (remember all the "no software emulation of GBA" posts?).

Actually the complete emulation is impossible indeed. It seems gbaemu4ds works kinda like a virtual machine, running most of the GBA code straight on the DS cpu and emulating only the unsupported stuff.

You see this emulator didn't even reach beta state. It runs very few games.
Really, I have had good compatibility(with the limited games I have tried). Its just framerate and sound which do not work well. Try Alpha 2 Fix 4 Aswell as Alpha 1 fix 1 for the best compatibility.

I have a screen size problem, i have a DSi XL, the emulator works, but it don't cover all the screen, just a portion of the size of a normal DSi or a DS lite. :(

I don't remember any options for scaling the hypervisor. Development just didn't reach that stage, you're out of luck I guess
