I did press X. It said "Supported boot method: rungcbackup + Wii Backup Launcher". I mean yeah, it works with the backup launcher channel, but I don't see anything there that would indicate it works with the disc channel.
i dunno then that's all you have to do to enable it from disc channel i didn't do anything special and it works fine.the mario said:I did press X. I get the same result using Wiigators miospatcher using 4,5, and 8 as well as Wanikoko's cmios installer. I was using a 3.3U system menu. I tried downgrading through ARC to 3.2U but that didn't seem to make a difference.
I can currently play wii backups made through the same method and on the same media on gamma.
I haven't found anyone saying they were having this same issue yet.

The wiki says it works, I had a pal backup of the game, it doesn't work. Burned it with 2 other games on a multidis, didn't work. Then I used gc_region_patcher_fixed to change it's region to USA and burned it alone, didn't work.
Tested with wiigator's and waninkoko's mIOS.
GcBooter and geckos won't work either.
The screen stays black, even though I can hear the audio. If someone have it working, could you try to play it without the memory card plugged when it starts and see if it gets to the menu screen?
I'm getting the problem with the NTSC version. The wiki says it works, maybe we're doing something wrong. Gonna test it on a friend's Wii tomorrow.
just launch di mIOS Installer again...it should ask you if you want to uninstall the Custom mIOS...kedest said:I have a modchip, so I've been playing GC backups for ages now. But just because I can, I'd to like to test this cmios and loader. That shouldn't be a problem.
But to restore the original mios afterwards, it that just a matter of installing the RVL-mios-v8.wad file with wad manager?
Luriden said:I installed Waninkoko's MIOS v8 wad with the rev1 installer to boot GC backups from the Disc Channel. The only game I've tried so far is Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure, which boots up fine and the intro video plays perfectly, but as soon as it gets to the title screen I get a disc read error message.
Is there a reason more people aren't using the same MIOS method I used? Does WiiGator's backup channel have improved compatibility?
I always managed to stay on top of things when the Wii backup launchers came out, but now there's 50 different versions of this GC backup launcher and I'm just confused as hell.
