I love what your doing but ew java. Its dangerous to run java due to how easily it can get malware and stuff from programs/sites.

I'm not sure where that information is coming from, seeing that Java is and has been one of the leading programming languages in computers and smartphones, I highly doubt that it's just an opening to malware. Don't get me wrong, I hate Java as a language for multiple reasons, but saying that it gives your computer malware is far from the truth. And besides, in Github it clearly shows that the program is written in C#. I'm not exactly sure where any of this came from.

I dumped my own copy of Splatoon 2, then repacked it with game_info into new xci with zero modifications, but SX OS still throws an error saying cart is unreadable.

The original xci dump is playable so something is getting lost in translation.

thank you, but how commands i have to use on CMD on windows?
please say the command basic to extract and rebuild in xci again.
Thanks lot.
If possible rip the game in the future to remove othes language audios etc, this be all i was looking for, cause rom rip + trimm is the best of all things we need.

Btw I have a gui WIP, probably finished in a couple of hours, easy concept, have the hacbuild binary in the same working directory and launch the gui

That's very nice!
But keep in mind that we still have to iron out some issues, so things (like command line arguments) could change.

I still haven't been able to (re)pack anything successfully. Getting errors mentioned in issue #5 even on the latest release.

Managed to decrypt Stardew nca then repack it as xci and it loaded under SX OS. But it still throws an error saying it needs to check online to authentic it, then obviously fails. So the app works, but it can't bypass eShop DRM check even in emulated cartridge form.

rip was literally about to try the same thing, I've heard we'll get support for .nro in 1.3

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
