Some people just doesn't know when to quit bithcing over nothing. "59fps not 60fps OMG my eyes can see it and now they are bleeding ! ..." ... Start playing the game instead of looking for flaws. ALL GAMES HAVE FLAWS.

Pip'

Oh dear. Stop trolling please. People who care about this issue can post in this self contained thread. If you're not interested in this topic, then stay away from this thread and stop insulting people who have taken the time to share valid opinions. Nintendo think its serious enough to issue a patch, as they have alluded to, but you seem to know better than Nintendo too I suppose.

The 4.0 update (of 23 Apr 2015) has not fixed this. Still getting that stutter, once every second. EVERY SECOND. Its like playing on a laggy emulator.

A lot of misinformation here about what the bug is.

Every second, one frame is repeated. So in other words, one out of every 60 frames stays on the screen for twice as long as it is supposed to. This ONLY HAPPENS in races where there is at least one CPU.

Any freezing etc that you notice online is a different problem. It has nothing whatsoever to do with your TV. Some people notice it, some people don't, it varies from person to person, but it has been scientifically proven to exist (under the circumstances laid out above). No, it has not been fixed in the latest update.

HAS to be a timing issue with the CPU drivers then, and that's no small fix in my opinion...(no I can't say I know that for sure before somebody harps up - just an educated guess)
Thankfully I only seem to play it in 4 player mode with the wifey & lads these days anyway, so it's not an issue for me now, but it did drive me bonkers at first when I was playing single player! Single player mode's shite on this anyway

I figure that it is possible to fix, but a complex issue involving AI when at least one on the screen. Single-player mode or local players, doesn't happen as there is no AI to deal with. Will they fix it? Hard to say.

The last two messages from mightymuffy and the_randomizer are somewhat contradictory. So, does the bug happen in single player mode, or not? Doesn't single-player mode always involve racing AI opponents, anyway?

No, it doesn't happen in single player or local multiplayer. ONLY when there is AI of at least one character on screen.

It happens in single player if you race against CPUs, but not in single player as in things like Time Trial.

Opps, i kind of forgot that there is the time trial option in single player, which is just racing by yourself on the track. No AI drivers there, but that's kind of a dull game mode. So, racing the computer (trying to get the stars or the trophies) will not trigger the bug, if I understand you?

No, computers (hence AI) will, racing other people in the same room will not.

So, by single player in your above messages, you actually meant single racer on the track, with no opponents (aka time trial). I get it. Still, I have never noticed this bug, myself... I'll have to double-check. Been a couple weeks since I last played.

Need to be either on either 50/100/150/200 CC mode or online.

I'm more concerned about the lack of having a backup item than this, actually. I've not really noticed this 59fps issue, tbh, cause I'm more into the action and making sure no one's going to shove a shell up my ass. :-P
