Okay so, I haven't picked up my vita since 2017. I've been too busy with my gpd xd plus, nintendo switch lite, and retroid pocket 2. But I want to get back into it. I know the Homebrew needs to be updated on it. Currently it's on 3.60 henkaku. An old version of adrenaline is also installed. Can someone guide me as to how to update this to best possible version of a cfw vita?

stay on 3.60. it's the golden firmware. you have to update adrenaline the normal way, as if it's not installed, because something is wrong with the built in updater.

use this: https://vita.hacks.guide/

I was on 3.65 enso, but I downgraded. there's a new exploit called henlo that no one seems to know about, but theflow released it. it's like henkaku for later firmware, but I'd stay on 3.60 so you can use regular henkaku. I think henlo is for later firmware.

Wow. Okay thanks. It's been so long, I forgot how to update adrenaline. And how to transfer more psp games over to it. Lol

I think it says in there how to update adrenaline. pretend like you're installing it for the first time. the updater used to work, but it no longer does, so it treat it as if it's not installed.

Wow, 3.60 still the "Golden" firmware? Glad I never think about updating it. Though I kinda want to use a flash drive on my vita tv to install games since I haven't gotten one of those sd things yet. Not even sure where to get one. :ninja:

Slight problem. I installed the latest version of adrenaline from the guide. But the old version is still there. In other words, installing the new version didn't overwrite the previous one. Here's a screenshot.

And here's the new one I just installed:

How do I delete the old one?

iirc, easy installer would create a fake base game for adrenaline (when adrenaline needed one), so uninstall both adrenalines, then install the updated one by itself.

@Sonic Angel Knight , you can usbmc for a flash drive.

Thanks. It worked. Is there a way to put my games into folders on the xmb menu? Like having all the ps1 games in one folder, and the psp games in another?

yes, I think it's either triangle or square (can't recall which button), but you have to push that button while hovering over the game you won't to go into a folder.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
