i was planning to follow a tutorial on ytb called "[3DS] How To Install Legit CIAs On 9.3 - 10.7"

No. Legit CIAs are only available for a handful of titles. Installation of Boot9Strap and Luma3DS as per 3ds.guide is greatly advised, especially if you're not that familiar with 3DS hacking.

Just follow every step in the recommended guide. It's as simple as that. Don't skip any steps.
