How to remove FW update nag

My FW 14.1.2 Mariko switch keeps nagging me to flash the new firmware with every single launch of a game, what's worse is that certain games are locked completely until I flash it. I don't want to flash the new firmware because I still hope that the kernel bug turns into something exploitable.

Going into maintenance mode to wipe the firmware data doesn't work, games are still locked. Any way to block ONLY the update servers? Not auth/NSO/eShop/account servers, ONLY the update ones.

However, I don't know whether it still works on recent firmwares.

About not updating, I think it's pointless: you should not expect anything on such high FWs. The latest real kernel flaw was for 4.1.0 and there were high expectations for FW up to 7.0.0 which never occurs.

By the way, even those who kept their FW on 4.1.0 were screwed if they had the NAG because they could not have access to any user entrypoint (based on Web browser).

Just block the ones you don't want to get checked.

However, just blocking the update server will not make you safe from Nintendo more than the update nag. You can still get banned for example because of a nsp file.

How could I get banned when my switch isn't homebrewed yet? That's the entire reason I'm not flashing the new firmware.

You can get it banned for other things as well.
So you gonna block it in a router then? If so just block the Sun URL.

What things for example? Swearing in-game or drawing inappropriate things gets you banned from only that game. Chargebacks get your ACCOUNT banned, not console.

Chargebacks can possibily get the console banned as well. It's up to Nintendo after all.
You can get banned for even a hacked pokemon even if YOU didn't hack it.

I hacked a Pokémon via PKSM on 3DS, transferred it to Pokémon Bank and then transferred Bank to HOME, then transferred HOME to SwSh. No ban.

Nobody can help you on this matter. If you want to play new games without updating your Switch
you got 2 options. Play on emulator or buy a hackable switch.

Your stuck, update to 15 and then turn off automatic updates. You're imposing a hardship on yourself hoping for something that has low odds of appearing. Enjoy what you have now, don't wait on something that may or may not happen in the future.

If entering maintenance mode doesn't clear the nag, then it's a super nag and you are stuck with it, there's no way to reset it unless you can run cfw on that switch to begin with.
Super nag also locks out the hidden web browser, so even if the kernel exploit becomes useful (basically impossible as devs have already looked into it), you won't be able to use it as most likely web browser will be used as the entry point (like 4.1.0).

Nobody can help you on this matter. If you want to play new games without updating your Switch
you got 2 options. Play on emulator or buy a hackable switch.

That's just impractical with a mouse and keyboard. Also, emulators still kinda suck at running certain games and it's impossible to patch games to work with replacement servers like Mario 35. My CPU and GPU are both powerful enough but Teknoparrot refuses to load certain maps on MKAGPDX without it being a slideshow.

They're way cheaper than that on ebay, so sell your current switch and games and pay the difference if there is one

Ever heard of a controller? Yeah those things work on emulation when you actually try it.... Refusing to play emulator b/c 1 game doesn't work for you?.... Dont sell yourself short

If you can afford a powerful CPU/GPU and own a Mariko switch you should be fine in purchasing only a Switch tablet of an OG model. The challenge is actually finding a reliable seller who still has them.
You made a thread assuming we could magically help you play new games and have access to online servers when you don't want to update. Yeah good luck with that. Waiting for a kernel hack is like waiting for a miracle to happen.... Clearly you still a have alot to think about.

Joycons work via Bluetooth as well and a Bluetooth adapter is $15 or less.

Is there a reason you never accept an offered solution to your problems?

You can also use xbox controllers, switch pro controller, ds controller. Etc. Not our fault that no solution gives you what you want

Does your PC have a usb port? Im using a PS3 controller..... No bluetooth or wireless just the old wired usb plugged in with a driver installed.
Seems like its lack of research thats preventing him from trying out these solutions. Both Yuzu/Ryujin have Vulkan support now. Just played Persona 5R with the 60fps mod and boi it runs smooth on Ryujin you would assume it was the PC version.
If you want to try out Bayonetta 3 thats going to be your best option if updating your switch isn't one.

I have now flashed the latest firmware. But I swear, if the old fimware gets an exploit and the new one doesn't...
