Looking forward to the new GBAtemp Minecraft anarchy server.Out of pure curiosity, I was wondering, if there were a hypothetical Minecraft server that GBAtemp users could all get together and play on, would that be of interest to anyone? And if so, would you rather vanilla Java version, or modded? If there's enough interest, maybe it'd be worth looking into!
yes but no mods so ehhh and more tempers own java editionBedrock edition would be the best because it's more easily accessible and because, y'know, crossplay.
*sigh* Time to find another $26.95 in my imaginary walletyes but no mods so ehhh and more tempers own java edition
shut up vita version is better(also PS3 version is best I don't make the rules)
awesome i bought the Java version (oddly for a Code Lyoko server love that series even after it ended)I believe java got overhwelming votes in the original poll, so the server will be java
I have a preliminary list of ideas so far. Trying to keep things relatively vanilla for now so nothing crazy added. Looking at 1.16.5 because it has a fair bit of mod support, and if we stay somewhat vanilla we might as well have the most vanilla can offer. Mod support for 1.17 is pretty weak since it's new.
Content:
Enhanced Vanilla - Adds some vanilla-esque blocks (granite/andesite/diorite bricks, soul stone, new flowers, etc)
Pam's Harvestcraft 2 - More crops and food variety
Aquaculture 2 - Adds a bunch of biome specific fish and enhanced fishing rods with hooks, bait, line and bobbers.
Biomes O' Plenty - Pretty standard for a modpack
Chisel - Lots of decorative blocks
Chisels & Bits - Maybe...it's fun but might be resource intensive
Genetic Animals - Never used before but seems hilarious, crazy vanilla animal expansion mod
FramedBlocks - The latest resurrection of Carpenter's Blocks, adds slopes pretty much
Iron Chests - Make new chests with more storage
QOL:
CleanCut - Hit mobs through breakable stuff like grass
Inventory Tweaks Renewed - Makes managing inventory better, adds sort button
GraveStone Mod - When you die it puts your stuff in a grave so it won't despawn, also it puts your items in your inventory how they were before you died
Hwyla - Shows info of stuff you look at
JEI - block/item search
Appleskin - Shows saturation
Fast Leaf Decay - I hope this is self-explanatory
Xaero's Minimap - Lightweight minimap
Xaero's World Map - Lightweight world map
Ore Excavation - new Veinminer, harvest an entire ore vein/tree by holding a hotkey
Optimization:
Clumps - clumps xp orbs
FerriteCore - reduces memory usage
S'all I got for now. Server will run Forge.
Bedrock edition would be the best because it's more easily accessible and because, y'know, crossplay.
Vita version is pretty good too, but it's a bit laggier, definitely not as bad as everyone says it is though.shut up vita version is better
Tree felling and house protections are a must... I don't know the name of the plugin, but you use a gold shovel to mark 2 corners around your property, and nobody but you and admins can interact with blocks you've placed.
Another great plugin is letting users set a /home and a /back command, so they can teleport home to drop off mining stuff, and /back to get back where they were mining at.
I completely forgot about Inventory Tweaks, and I feel bad for it, considering the aftermentioned mod list size I usually play
Also gravestones, I take it for granted in 1.7.10 so much I don't even know which mod adds it.
But yeah, BiomesOP is in my experience quite resource-heavy on the client. Or at least in the FPS sense. I don't have a weak laptop, but BiomesOP biomes just absolutely kill the FPS. If we're going for accessibility VRAM-wise and FPS-wise then this should be reconsidered. Althought the bad FPS issue might be fixed in newer Minecraft versions.
Pam's Harvestcraft is usually better paired with some hunger-altering mods, like Spice of Life, but that would increase the difficulty, especially at the beginning when you're still wandering about. Without hunger-altering mods, it's a bit pointless, and just wastes icon space in the texture atlas.

Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition is officially a Bedrock build now.I completely forgot about Inventory Tweaks, and I feel bad for it, considering the aftermentioned mod list size I usually play

Good to see having fast leaf decay being mentioned. While it does slightly alter tree-cutting behavior (you don't explicitly break the leaves after cutting a tree down), it literally saves on both wasted player time and wasted random ticks on the server by decaying them really fast.
The rest would be either pretty good additions, or I have no comment about them.
Is Bedrock really accessible? It's not available for Windows :/ In fact, "Get Minecraft" page for "Computer" redirects me to a 404
yeah on the windows 10 store basic is cheaper than the java version i believe starter cost the same though wouldn't be fair for those on Mac OS/linux/win 8.1I completely forgot about Inventory Tweaks, and I feel bad for it, considering the aftermentioned mod list size I usually play
