Paid smartphone games are also trash though. Except Super Mario Run and Sonic Runners Adventure.

Smartphones are good only for emulators. Still I refuse paying for emulators (good thing for pirated apk), especially since emulators are also illegal.

Honestly I don't see what people have against ports on mobile devices. Though asking £30+ for them is still a bitter pill to swallow, NISA putting Disgaea 1 Complete+, and more recently, Disgaea 4 Complete+ onto mobile is the best thing they could've done.

A game like Disgaea is so great for that platform, and they do put in work to make it a worthwhile version to pick up. Weirdly, the mobile port of Disgaea 1 Complete is the most feature-rich of all of them, since they implemented the Cheat Shop found in more recent games, as well as further automation options.

I'm just waiting for Disgaea 5 to come mobile and my phone will be complete lol

If you don't have an internet connection, Sonic Runners Adventure won't boot up (well, same goes for other Sega games, too).

There are good paid mobile games, but I don't see the point buying something there's no "real" ownership and it can be made unplayable (aren't the GTA games and Bully like that?).

Ridge Racer Slipstream is an excellent RR game on Android, except for one problem: It's no longer supported (works on a tablet I have with 7.0, although not on newer Android OSes i.e 12 and 13) so that's pretty disappointing.

Another thing I hate about smarphone games is that even when they make good games they lack support for controllers and they're unplayable with virtual pads. Also lots of older games can't be played on newer devices for some fucking reason even if they're offline games. Not to mention that Google Play only pushes the heavily advertised games and there are no options like searching for new games like you can do at Nintendo eshop.

I totally agree with you on the controller support issue. It would be awesome if more mobile games offered that feature. Plus, the compatibility problems with older games on newer devices can be a real mystery sometimes.

As for Google Play, I hear you on the promotion of heavily advertised games. It'd be great to have more options for discovering hidden gems.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! By the way, if you're into mobile gaming, you might want to check out homescapescheats.info for some cool tips and tricks.

Totally agree with you! It's frustrating when people complain about mobile games yet opt for free ones loaded with ads and microtransactions. Supporting quality paid games helps the industry grow and encourages developers to create better content. It's a win-win for both gamers and game creators. 📱🎮💰

The market is really aimed at casuals and people with little income.
I play mobile games since 2012 or something, and to be honest, they always aimed for the casual players.

Only a small % of games at that era was the type of games you look and think "oh wow this game is fire🔥 looks like it came right out from a console" like N.O.V.A and etc. And nowadays, this % is now even smaller than before

Mario Run became useless to me thanks to it's always online DRM.

The times that I mainly play mobile games it's when I'm somewhere with poor internet access.

edit:

Just realised this was an old post.

nope just another gacha hell with improved game mechanics if you compare it to the other afk trash
It's well made, fun to play, and has tons of (freely accessible) content. What more do you want?
More importantly, it's a console quality game.
The only gacha mechanic is for people who are obsessed with waifus and want to "catch them all". Doing so doesn't make the game any better. It's just as good if you're paying nothing.

yeah sure i'll pay for mobile games, and be absolutely happy when they get updated to be completely broken or entirely unsupported on the device i purchased them for, or don't support a control scheme i like, (i paid $25 for monster hunter stories only for it to not have controller support, touch only)

which is something that has happened to me, good luck trying to play any of the android ports of the gta games without significant issues on a modern device (bad versions of the games, but okay if you have a dedicated device), most of them don't launch or have severe graphical issues like vice city
and they were all artificially updated to not support anything older than android 8.0, which is far newer than the nvidia shield i bought them for supports, (5.1 officially, 6.0 unofficially)

not to mention paid means nothing ESPECIALLY these days, since even paid games/apps can still have ads

what i want ? i want games with no in game shop no transactions no season passes etc

i want that we go back were the first priority is fun and telling a good story instead it became whos the best and to be the best you have to pay the best price

to make it short videogames were art now its a product
and this is why the gaming industry is facing a big "crash"
