The first time I played it on the WiiU, I died a lot in the beginning and I was pissed off so I quit playing it (not much time to play regardless). I was Falling down to death, Guardians killed me in 1 hit, weapons always broken, etc.

I purchased it on the Switch and took time to understand the goals.

- 120 Shrines to find around the map. (Outside of DLC)
- When you complete a shrine, you get an orb
- You exchange 4 orbs for a permanent heart piece or additional stamina.
- You don't fight guardians, you run. (At least in the beginning)
- Take your time to explore
- You can cook to have additional temporary hearts at the beginning of the game.
- You exchange seeds for additional storage
- Four main 'Dungeons' that are actually really awesome.
- Take it easy, the goal is not to complete Dungeons to save the princess. (Well ... kind of) but take your time to play and enjoy. Just live the adventure.

After a couple of hours, I was addicted to the game. Just completed it last week with all the shrines. Now, personally, I do think it is the best Zelda ever made. A true Master Piece with Mario Odyssey where the main goal is to explore in order to find Shrines or Moons (Mario).

After the first hours, it happened that I died but never got frustrated... Well once when I tried to go too fast on one of the Lost Wood quest and always ended up dying in the mud.

Man I was so pissed off when I completed the game. I wanted more more and more.

You want confusing? Tell him to try the nes games before he complains about confusing. Go to the store, Buy a $10 eshop card, download the game from eshop and make him play it. Then complain about confusing. Trust me, he will appreciate Breath of the wild more, least the game is playable without choosing to

  1. Wander around aimlessly for hours and figure stuff out
  2. go online and look at a strategy guide
  3. give up :P
I've actually beaten the original LoZ 3 times already, it was tough, but got the hang of it. And I get games for freeee

if you are familiar with Zelda Games (except Zelda 1 on NES) you might be disappointed about BotW.

it is no ("classical") Zelda game imo.
-its open world (similar to the first zelda game) you dont know where to go... you just go ... even to the final boss.
-it barely has any story... its more like they just made some "story" to make the world fit somehow. (its a really awful story imo but well...)
-you can explore the sh*t out of this world (i guess thats 99% of the game anyway)
-you can solve shrines (well... think of it like small mini dungeons you can solve in under 2-3 Minutes .... usually even less.. super easy..)
-you have 4 "big" dungeons (those dungeons are sadly laughable easy to go through.... nothing special tbh)
-if you are lost you just keep exploring until you find something new.

so well... it can be confusing but if it comes down to solve riddles its too easy sadly.

as a zelda fan i m super disappointed with this sh*tty game... but taste differs :P

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
