Hi BullyWiiPlaza. I was wondering, do you know of a website that explains how to make codes for the Wii U? I'd like to make a code that unlocks all the achievements in Xenoblade Chronicles X (two achievements are only obtainable by using Miiverse so it's impossible to get these). I asked if there was a code for this on the cheat code thread but I doubt anyone has one. Would you mind directing me to a super beginner code making page?

I'm not sure about any websites but I have two videos which should be helpful:

Also, you could learn Cheat Engine and read things like this:
https://guidedhacking.com/threads/game-hacking-faq.9884/

For unlocks games usually store them as value 0 if it's locked and value 1 or higher if it's unlocked. So, you'll have to make searches like equals to 0 and then greater than 0. This is not one of the easiest cheats to make since it often yields many results and it can be hard to track them down further.

Thanks for responding! I will look at those and see if I get it enough to try doing. The two achievements I'm specifically looking for are numbers 186 and 187 (assuming the wiki has them in in-game order).

Would knowing where they fall on the list help? And if I do mess around with the game trying to figure this out, is there any damage I could do to the Wii U? Like bricking?

It probably helps, depending on if the value is used in-game and if you can search for it. You never really brick by messing around so don't be afraid. ;)

Ok, I will look at your links and try to do it. If I have anymore questions (they're going to be complete noob questions most likely lol) would you mind if I asked you on this thread?

EDIT: I watched your two videos and now have a question. In the MK8 video and Breath of the Wild vid you had an idea of what to search for in the address range and value box. Would you know what I should specifically type in as a start for this game? Or would you need to play this game first? The first thing that popped up in my mind was searching for the achievement numbers, but I doubt it would be that simple.

You figure out the range with experience in finding addresses for the game so at the beginning you also don't know that. Searching for the achievement numbers might work but most likely not. It can be useful to analyze the difference in save files (one with unlocks and one without) to avoid having too many results in the JGecko U search.

I will try that and I will message this board if I have any questions. Thank you!

Would you mind if I asked code questions on this thread or would you want me to post somewhere else? And before I try anything, do you know of a website where codes for xenoblade x exist? I should look first before I try anything.

So, I'm honestly not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but I'm getting connection timeouts when I attempt to use JGecko U.

Full steps I'm taking
- Start unit (cold boot)
- Run Haxchi
- Run HBC
- Start TCPGecko (using .elf provided in this topic) by pressing A (not loading SD variant)
- System restarts
- Launch game (Twilight Princess HD)
- Launch JGecko U on Windows machine on same network
- Put in local IP (192.168.50.183) (works fine for FTP to Wii U)
- Get socket timeout.

Any thoughts on what's up here? No real clear way for me to debug that I can tell.

You're not using the latest version.

Open the following spoiler for a non-personal rant on people using outdated JGecko U builds:
I don't get where people always pull their 3-year-old JGecko U builds from. If you downloaded it back then, update it before you post. The top post and nearly every tutorial states to download from my GitHub. So, if you read the top post at least you would've known. It should be common sense that old software may not be fully compatible anymore. Or does anyone expect Google Chrome version 1.0 to perfectly handle all web pages because it's a browser for the web people are using these days or Windows 1.0 to run all software you download online because it's an operating system people are also using these days and you're downloading Windows software? For the same reason, JGecko U != JGecko U. I released many builds and things change over time. It's like you can't even make any kinds of updates to anything without some dummy complaining "it dusnt wurk pl0x" or "it luks diffrent pl0x, Im confuzd". Maybe I should've made forced auto updates like I do with other tools so this doesn't happen but now people will always continue to download/use their 10-year-old JGecko U builds and file bug reports because nobody understands that JGecko U has to play nicely with the TCP Gecko Installer or whatever counterpart just like in the examples mentioned above. How hard is it? Literally 50% of all bug reports on this threads are like this. Get it together already, people. It's not hard.</rant>

Import it into JGecko U and export the GCTU file to your SD Card. I'm not sure of the correct path right now, but JGecko U should tell you. Apart from that, use @BullyWiiPlaza 's tutorial right here:

Hello,

I'm using TP HD Pal disk and plain homebrew channel 1.4 without any cfw.
I understand that Nor the Trainer or JGecko works with Twilight Princess HD
Can someone tell me where to put the GCTU file on the SD (path) and how to toggle the cheats?
Also, which version of TCPGecko and which option to install?

Thank you very much

Yeah it works that way. I'm trying to find values for Lego City Undercover. It seems like it would be trivial to find a quantity like Lego pieces but my searches come up with nothing. Is that game just difficult to find addresses for? Any tips?
