Looking to upgrade and transfer data to bigger storage..

I have 2 questions..
1. I currently only use 1 storage device for all my GameCube, Wii and WiiU games. Therefor my Wii and GameCube games are injects and are launched from WiiU Home menu. I have a 1TB HDD and would like to transfer all my data/games and upgrade to a 2TB HDD which is the max a WiiU will allow, if I am not mistaken. Is it possible to transfer and upgrade storage with no data lost?

2. Is it possible to rename games once already installed onto WiiU. I noticed some games named incorrectly..

Yes, via FTP. Go to storage_usb/usr/title/[TIDhigh]/[TIDlow]/meta and edit the names inside of the meta.xml file.

If you plug both drives into the Wii U at the same time it will automatically send you to Data Management where you can transfer the data.

Now explaining how FTP works and stuff would be too much, especially considering this has a million of different clients: FTP stands for File Transfair Protocol and this exists since 1971 (yes, predating the internet). So either you heard from it already or you're living behind the moon and google it for yourself, like "how to use an FTP client".

Thank you for the GitHub, I’m guessing that’s what I need to run FTP app on WiiU. I am somewhat familiar with FTP. I use WinSCP to transfer data for my Vita and switch. Should be the same. Thanks again for your help

Hey I downloaded the WiiU FTP. Where do I place the folde? I placed it in apps folder but I cant find it.

Damn it. WiiUServer is still not connecting. I am on the same WiFi and tried anonymous login. It’s prompting me for credentials and when I leave it blank and click ok it fails to connect.

I use filezilla to connect to the console (Aroma). Give it a try, eh? Or just leave it be, if you only want to rename the game. Transfering games to a bigger storage should be main priority.

I’m not using Aroma. I’m on tiramisu, I guess I can try using FTPiiu instead. I wanted to correct game tittles before upgrading storage size.

@V10lator your help will be appreciated with troubleshooting WiiUFTPServer. Whenever you have a chance, I am unable to connect FTP.
