That is just for the newest nightly, right? I cannot imagine menuhax support to be removed for the stable releases. Why should it be removed when it does not cause harm at all?
Basically the same reason why people stopped supporting Windows XP. These entrypoints are older and no longer recommended. Support needs to start dropping off them to encourage users to upgrade to a more stable entrypoint like A9LH. That's just how technology works, you cut off the old and move forward.

I hadn't touched my n3ds in awhile, then went to go update luma earlier this evening. I think the update failed somehow, and now it's giving me a FIRM error. Initially it said it couldn't read the FIRM from the /luma folder, so I went to the github and downloaded the firmware.bin file, then added that to the /luma folder. Now it's giving me an error that states that this FIRM is not for this console.

Any suggestions?

Delete the firmware.bin. Most people have no use for that.

It used to be necessary to use NTR, but that was before NTR Selector started getting regular updates (and Ninty started adding NFIRM requirements).

Firmware.bin was used by Luma prior to its relaunch with version 7 or 6. NTR uses ntr.bin, which still is used. NTR Boot Selector is now the official way of loading up NTR. It'll download the ntr.bin's automagically for you.

However for a while firmware.bin was required as none of the NTR loaders supported anything above 10.3.

I don't know if someone should create a new thread for this but anyway...
Luma is dropping support for non-a9lh booting like mset, menuhax, etc...

So if you read this and still don't have a9lh, you should follow the guide to install it if you want to use newer luma versions from now on

EDIT: here is the commit

Luma drops non-A9LH loaders and some minor stuff.
You can still use old loaders to boot the latest arm9loaderhax.bin though.

BTW to all noobs: MSET & Menuhax are expert users' boot methods now.
Don't use them if you're not experienced.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
