What is the difference (if any) bewteen Magic-NS and the 8bitdo Wireless USB adapter besides the Magic-NS supporting USB controllers by plugging them into it? I just want an easy way to use my DualShock 4 on my Switch and the 8bitdo adapter is usually ~$5 less then the Magic-NS.

Simple question:
I have the Magic-NS. I've updated to the latest firmware. How do I sync my Wiimote to it for use on a PC?
Just like any wii mote

It overall supports more controllers, The 8bitdo adapter supports ajusting the rumble though by pressing R+L+SHARE, the only real downside of that thing is the deadzone, there is non. Its really annoying to me as my sticks are slightly to the left.

Wouldn't the deadzones be caused by the controller not the adapter?

As for the adjustable rumble, I'm thinking mayflash could add that feature in firmware. I'm interested in using my PS4 Hori fightpad so I'll be grabbing the Magic-NS

From what I've read and seen online, yes
thats be super dope. my brother gave me a ps3 controller that i used on my iphone, the shield tablet. never had a ps3, but i have the controller and i love the button layout.

so between this and the 8bitdo dongle, seems like mayflash is best. no?

I think so anyway. I have a wired ps4 fight pad that I can use on the switch now

have a strange glitch, hopefully someone can help..

I'm using latest Switch and MayFlash firmware, with official Wii U Pro controller

The problem is, sometimes the D-pad (horizontal or vertical) gets stuck (froze) and I have to bump my left analog stick for it to work again. Anyone know what the deal is? thanks

UPDATE: Figured it out. Sometimes my analog stick is still registering slight horizontal or vertical movement, and when that happens, the corresponding direction can't function simultaneously on the D-pad. Tapping the analog stick to center fixes it. I'm not sure if the Wii U allows simultaneous input, since I hadn't noticed it before. I need to test me Wii U before I can rule this as a limitation of the MayFlash adapter. Clearly my Pro controller does have a slight drift issue though.

Have you tried to Configure it in The settings? Nintendo has a bunch of stuff there to configure deadzones and what not

oh no, i mean like e.g I'll turn on the switch with the joy cons and then while i have that mayflash single inserted in the dock, can i then just turn on the DS4 controller and it'll connect without me going up every time and push any sync button on that dongle?

that is a bug that does not appear to all adapters. it sadly does to mine, so i have to reconnect the adapter to start working. but usually works fine.
haven't tested if it has been fixed with the v1.21 though.

Mine is on v1.21 and works perfectly like that, just wake up the Switch with the Joy Con and works right away with both my wired Xbox One controller and DS4.

I just bought one off eBay and it also has that issue where it won't power on when the Switch is docked. I've emailed the seller to ask if I can exchange it for another one that has been tested not to behave that way, but I'm not hopeful. I updated it to 1.21 and it made no difference.

It's not a deal breaker because it works so darn well apart from that, but it would be nice to be able to leave it hidden away in the back of the dock without having to faff around with it every time.

there are usb ports inside the dock near the hdmi output, will those work?

Yeah, they work, but it still needs to be removed then reinserted before it turns on.

eBay seller apologised but can't exchange it for anything different so I'll just live with it and hope a firmware update fixes it. It's a minor inconvenience for such a great value versatile device.

Anyone else have a problem where your controller rumbles a little bit all of the time while playing Crash? This is the only game this happens with.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
