'Metal Gear' 31st Anniversary Celebrated By Its Movie Director And Some New Art
In case you haven't heard, the Metal Gear Solid movie is really happening and the director of Kong: Skull Island, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, will be directing the big screen adaptation. Vogt-Roberts and Kojima have been in cahoots lately with the two buddies meeting up several times and even sharing an interview during this year's E3. Moreover, Kojima gave Jordan his blessings to go ahead with the movie adaptation of his famous video game series.
I’ve been keeping this a secret for a while but it a great honor to announce that @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN wrote an introduction to the liner notes of the Japanese KINGS OF SUMMER release.

In it he says “I’m convinced that no one but him can direct "METAL GEAR SOLID".

Nevertheless, Vogt-Roberts has been very tight-lipped about the whole movie ever since he secured the role of director. This Friday 13 marks the 31st Metal Gear anniversary and Jordan took to his twitter account to start a celebration of the classic video game series.

Over the next 31 days Vogt-Roberts will pay tribute to the cult series with 31 pieces of never seen before artwork from ‘next-gan artists', artwork which, I quote, "are not meant to show what is or not in the forthcoming film". The first of the series of artwork has been used this post's banner. He also teases "some surprises along the way..."

There’s many beautiful+insane+iconic images to come...but I want to start with this piece by Nick Foreman.
The bond we formed via mechs reinforced that we should be loud w/ our love of this franchise as we may find friends & collaborators in the process. pic.twitter.com/5Zj4vRsu5T
Jordan Vogt-Roberts is undeniably a massive fan of the Metal Gear video game series and I am personally looking forward to his movie adaptation. Do you think he will be able to produce a faithful adaptation?
