RTX On! Prepare to see Minecraft in a whole new way, with the announcement of a public beta for a ray-tracing based graphics update for the game. Those playing the Windows 10 version of Minecraft and that have a newer Nvidia graphics card will be able to partake in a beta that showcases how the game looks with fancier "next-gen" visuals that overhaul reflections, shadows, and effects. To check out the beta, you'll need to go into the Minecraft Marketplace section of the game, where you can grab the RTX Creator Worlds for free, specifically designed to showcase how Minecraft looks with RTX. The beta will go live on April 16th.

I understand what it is and I have seen all the material. I see that it makes a difference that I would like to see in other games. I still don't see shy I should care about it in Minecraft. This game in particular is not that gorgeous with RTX, it is just more sparkly...

A technology that's nice on paper is worthless if it doesn't improve the game it is used on. And that's what I (and probably Wrathalos as well) think is the case.

You can get RayTracing on Java. In fact, with shaders, you get an even more complete integration as PathTracing. Check out the SEUS PTGI Shaders

Guess I'll have to buy the Win10 version just so I can have something in my library that uses ray tracing. Gotta put that RTX 2080 Super to work.

Its a fine game, just not exactly a title I'm dying to see Ray Tracing have an impact on. Not against it, just not particularly amped for it.

This is cool and all, but I prefer Java Minecraft and I have a pretty sweet setup with shaders that looks just as impressive. Bring rtx or shaders to console Minecraft, and I'll be more impressed and hyped to jump back into Minecraft
