New Tomb Raider game set to release this September

IMG_7142.JPG

With a slight tease from Square Enix at the end of last year announcing the game's existence, the company has accidentally divulged more information about a new Tomb Raider game. Checking the code on the official website for the series will lead you to a message scheduled for March 15, noting that "Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the climactic finale of Lara Croft's origin story". This is the third entry in the Tomb Raider series since the reboot in 2013. Eidos Montreal, the studio behind Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, will be in charge of development. According to the leaked text, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will launch this September 14th.

to be fair its pretty much the same as the first one, game play, mechanics etc it feels exactly the same.

Good! I've still got a fair bit to do in the one I've got. I'm missing a ton of stuff/areas, I kind of raced through it in my excitement.

I just hope it wont get released like Rise of the tomb raider
It first got released on XBO, then months later, on pc, and a year after the launch, on ps4
I'd prefer it to be released on all plateform at the same time
(I still wonder if switch can handle TressFX/purehair/Hairworks)
Tomb Raider 2013 is on the nvidia shield tv, ported by nvidia themselves. But still, the game is... pretty meh graphically compared to the other versions, it suffers from frame rate issues too... and also, remember that the shield tv has the double amount of the switch's cpu clockspeed and the normal/true clockspeed of the tegra x1 (no the switch underclocked one)...

Her twin sister. Their parents had a sick sense of humor
A poor victim of autocorrect, that's who :P
Ha! The next entry in this origin series will feature a never before mentioned twin sister that gets treated as she was there all the time since Tomb Raider (2013) just to fill a couple of plot holes opend by the story planned for this third game - confirmed. I'm sure that will work and everyone just will ask themself who that is and then assume they just skipped one entry in the series by accident. Classic story writing going on here ;)

At least now we know that the bad guy this time is called "autocorrect". Just wonder if that is a nick name or if his parents had a sick sense of humour too. Would make sense to mirror the protagonist Lara Croft.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
