A new console, a new line up and to be honest, screw the naysayers I think this is a good line up!

In the future these titles will be on the Wii/DS thread but seeing its launch month its got its own this time and also all games are written up that will be released in the West come launch day.

Released: March 25th (Europe) March 27th (US) Genre: Fly-me-do!
Developer: Nintendo Publisher: Nintendo
Developers Previous Games: Pilotwings, Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Pikmin, Wii Sports
Does the Temp want it?: They should want Do I Want it?: Of course! Its Pilotwings but of course I wont buy it until I know its good.

The last Pilotwings game was way back on the N64 and it was bitching! We've waited so long for a new game and finally Nintendo have given us this! A shame that Factor 5's Gamecube game got canned but I still hope this is worth the wait!

Pilotwings Resort puts the players in the pilot's seat as never before in this long-awaited 3D update to the Pilotwings series.

Import your Mii characters from the 3DS Mii Maker and explore Wuhu Island (the star of Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus) by plane, by hang glider and by rocket belt. Each vehicle type features unique controls that offer a different challenge. Complete around 40 flight missions in Mission Mode to earn stars, or scour Wuhu Island for hundreds of collectible extras in Free Flight Mode as you unlock interactive 3D Dioramas of various aircraft and famous island monuments. Get a bird's-eye view of familiar Wuhu Island sites -- and a few new ones. You can even share your experiences with friends and family members by taking in-game photos and saving them to 3DS photo album.

I do have some concerns. It seems like an off shoot of the flying mode from Wii Sports Resort and also Nintendo hasn't really talked about it much. Sadly reviews so far have pretty much confirmed that there isn't much content and all you do is fly around one island and that with more content it would be a much better game but so far scores average around 7/10...not quite what you expect from a long awaited new entry to a well respected series from Nintendo!

Released: March 25th (Europe) March 27th (US) Genre: One on One Fighter-me-do!
Developer: Capcom Publisher: Capcom
Developers Previous Games: Forgotten Worlds, Power Stone, Strider, Street Fighter III: Third Strike - Fight for the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Does the Temp want it?: They want Do I Want it?: My first 3DS game?

Streetfighter returns to a Nintendo console! Its odd but this series was made huge on the Super Nintendo and other than GBC and GBA titles there hasn't been much else! What gives Capcom? Shit even iPhone gamers got Street Fighter 4! Oh well you're making up by giving 3DS gamers a definitive version of this excellent series.

The ultimate version of Street Fighter makes its seamless transition to the Nintendo 3DS with Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition. The console experience is now in the palm of your hand with rich new features that utilize the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS to its fullest.
Packed with 35 playable characters, bonus stages and cinematic Ultra combos, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition expands the action by allowing you to fight your friends around the world using Wi-Fi.
New to the franchise are the figurine mode, which utilizes the Street Pass feature to add a collectible meta-game, and the 3D over-the-shoulder camera option that takes fighting to new depths. For those new to the franchise, a simple mode has been added allowing players to pull off challenging moves with a single touch of the screen.

If I had a 3DS, this will be in my collection already. The first SF4 game was amazing it'll be great to play this on the go with more options, especially seeing Capcom aren't doing a PC version. Scores have been excellent and so far its the highest rated 3DS title.

For the first time ever, enjoy a complete life simulation experience in 3D on handheld with The Sims 3 for the Nintendo 3DS. From the creators of the world's most popular life simulator franchise, The Sims 3 is now maximized for a fully 3D world.

New camera angles that take advantage of 3D.
Exclusive karma powers.
Face-mapping feature.
Take a photo of yourself to transfer to your sim and have your sims look like you.

Scores haven't been too good for this, most say its either ok or below average. I want a new Sim Ant for chuff sake.

Beating FIFA by becoming the first footy game on the 3DS and lets be honest rightfulyl so because it is a far better series. If this can match the Wii version of the series then we're in for a treat!

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 on 3DS utilizes the cutting-edge technology the new system affords as the game puts you at the heart of every pass, through-ball, and shot.
An active 'Player' camera centers on the user's every movement, dynamically following the action. This makes for an intense recreation of being a key part of a successful soccer team. Realism is literally taken to another level thanks to the game's incredible use of depth and distance perception. The camera views on the 3DS allow the user to visually ascertain how far away other teammates are thus enabling more instinctive long passes and dynamic movement.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 for 3DS uses the UEFA Champions League option by allowing users to partake in the game's greatest club competition, while the legendary Master League invites players to build a team from scratch and help them dominate both at the club, and on a global levels. Players can select one of 60 National and 170 club sides and lead them to glory within a range of challenging tournaments and leagues. The game's stunning AI also ensures that players not only look identical to their real-life counterparts, but move and react like them too.

The series' first 3D venture also utilizes the advanced technology in 'Street Pass' Mode, where Master League team data will be compared with another player when the handheld senses another 3DS user. A winner is determined once the data is compared. Reaching specific targets will also unlock new players and teams for use in the main game. With one-on-one wireless capabilities and play-by-play commentary, gamers along with, friends and family can all fully enjoy this groundbreaking soccer game in 3D.

One of those titles I am considering. Scores have been favourable ranging from 7-8/10

Released: March 25th (Europe) March 27th (US) Genre: Puzzle Mini Game-me-do!

Developers Previous Games: Monkey Ball Shiz
Does the Temp want it?: No one seems to care Do I Want it?: Actually yeah I'll get it reduced price

The first two games...classics! The rest...meh. Well ok the first Wii one was good and I haven't even tried Step & Roll but Sega have kinda not done much with this series other then a boring platformer and just repeat the same game but with more mini games.

Super Monkey Ball for Nintendo 3DS offers a whole new level of interactivity and fun, whilst completely immersing you in the world of your favorite monkeys -- AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon and Baby -- as they truly come alive in front of your eyes. Taking advantage of the power of the Nintendo 3DS, players can let themselves loose in each new vibrant world as they twist and turn whilst aiming to collect every banana in the fastest time possible. This latest installment contains three brand-new compelling gameplay choices including single-player puzzle levels, Monkey Race and Monkey Fight. These new game modes give players the chance to compete via wireless connection with up to four players in the best 3D social experience possible in the palm of their hands. In addition, Super Monkey Ball fans will be able to choose between the Nintendo 3DS motion sensor or the Slide Pad to navigate the puzzle mazes with complete precision.

I am up for a game as good as the first two on the Gamecube and for me its always been more of a Nintendo series and hopefully Sega know this and have given us a great game. The game has so far had positive scores from various but I guess its probably something for die hard fans or for someone who hasn't bought a SMB game in a long while.

I like this series but only on a proper handheld with a proper control method! So far I have only played the first two on DS and N-Gage (I miss you N-Gage) and both were really good though the DS version of the first wasn't that good. I hope this is as good or better than the 2nd 'cos that is my most played DS racer and I enjoy it a lot.

The renowned racing franchise returns with higher-quality graphics than ever and for the first time 3D features that create the most realistic, immersive racing experience yet. In Asphalt 3D, you'll power a wide range of high-performance cars and race through 17 exotic locations with the 3DS' accelerometer. Experience surging down the road as you swerve to avoid oncoming traffic in full 3D. Uncover new racing circuits and vehicles, customize your hot rod, and play against up to 6 friends using the Local Play feature of the Nintendo 3DS system.
Enable StreetPass by sending and receiving game data to see how you compare with your friends and just about everyone else who plays the game. Race against the viral ghost of top-ranked players to reach the top of the charts and earn in-game cash. Asphalt 3D is racing as you've never experienced before!

Thing is, is it good enough for a full priced retail release? I don't think so but I will get it on budget. Scores have been mixed, one says its horrible while others seem to indicate say its a pretty solid racer.

Looks like the same old title only with Cats and some social stuff. I was interested in a Nintendcats game but decided it would be crap as every time I turn the game on I probably wouldn't see my cat...just either a turd or something dead.

The adorable puppies of Nintendogs come to life in the palm of your hand on the Nintendo 3DS system with even cuter and more expressive puppies -- and kittens! The interaction between puppy and player also goes beyond the screens to draw players in like never before.

Nintendogs uses the built-in camera and facial-recognition technology to enable puppies to react to your real-life movements, mimicking your head tilts and jumping up to lick you as you lean in.
The 3-D visuals and the deep interaction offered by the touch screen, microphone and camera of the Nintendo 3DS system make for a deeper emotional connection to your puppies, giving players even greater joy from an already heartwarming experience.
Everything that made the original Nintendogs great also returns, with multiple breeds to choose from, accessories for your puppies to wear and the ability to let your puppy train and compete in different challenges and activities.
The game also introduces cats to the series for the first time.

These should sell quite well though lets be honest they should be part of ONE cart and not three separate titles. Actually if I can tip cats over onto their backs while they sit looking smug, like I do in real life then I may get it. Scores have been good, not brilliant seeing as most reviewers say its pretty much the same old DS game but prettier and some new things.

So no online? I remember how bad the DS version was and hoe unremarkable the PSP ones were, I doubt we'll be playing this one much...shit I want a new Burnout...however scores haven't been too bad ranging from 7/10 to IGN's 8.5/10.

Never got into these games at all.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles takes the fan favorite series into uncharted territory with 3D graphics and new gameplay improvements that will bring this franchise to the next level. The game provides tactical action like you’ve never seen! Through deep combat, multiple branching storylines and a living 3D battlefield, the legend of the samurai lives on...
In the game, players will be able to change control between four different warriors on the fly, easily switching between characters by touching the Nintendo 3DS touch panel. Teamwork is a key focal point of the game, as the secret to success lies in positioning your team on the battlefield wisely. There are also friendship levels between the various characters that will ultimately guide where the story goes and how battles play out, so helping others has its rewards.

Its had bad reviews and bad reviews plus zero interest = not for me.

Sure it looks like a DS game and well it probably was at some point but hell I've been wanting something like this on this since Rebstar: Tactical Command on the GBA. Scores have been very good, in fact so far this seems to be 2nd to SSF43DS in the scores department.

And now we get on to the annual Ubisoft launch port! They flooded the Wii with some and they seem to be doing the same again with 3DS, I just hope this is good and not like the horrendous Far Cry Wii.

Sam Fisher, the renowned secret agent is back in this redesigned version of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Experience one of the most acclaimed games in the Splinter Cell franchise for the first time in 3D

In Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D, Sam Fisher is sent behind enemy lines in the Korean Peninsula to prevent WWIII, by investigating the responsible party that sunk the USS Clarence E Walsh, U.S.’s most advanced cruiser. Through his investigation, Sam learns that the key parties who are planning to use the Masse Kernels and launch WWIII are war comrade Douglas Shetland, Displace International, and Admiral Otomo, the Third Echelon Information Self Defense Force (I-SDF) contact. His goal will be to infiltrate their lines and expose their deeds before they manage to launch a new and deadly worldwide conflict.

The cutting edge hardware of the new Nintendo 3DS allows Splinter Cell fans and all stealth/action addicts to experience an immersive 3D adventure, interacting with the game like never before.

So Ubisoft got Gameloft to port the N-Gage Chaos Theory to the DS years ago and now they're getting them to port the Gamecube version to the 3DS...well its a step up I guess and at least they're adding bits to it. Scores have been mixed, some say its sort of ok while others say its a dodgy port. In a way I kinda want a port of XIII.

And here is a game that was a DS launch title! Only this time it has a good controller for a 3D platformer and won't have to rely on horrible touchscreen control.

Evil mechanical pirates led by the evil Razorbeard have enslaved the inhabitants of Rayman's world in this Nintendo 3DS release based on the classic Rayman 2: The Great Escape. This Nintendo 3DS version features major updates on key game play elements such as accessibility, progression and learning curve.
In Rayman 3D, you must help Rayman collect four magical masks needed to wake a god who will make those pirates walk the plank for their crimes. As you journey through your adventure, you must pick up fragments of energy called "lums," and you'll also have the opportunity to free cute characters that have been captured and stuffed into cages by Razorbeard's pirates.

Ok well the DS one was a port of the so so PSX version while this is a port of the excellent Dreamcast version...its a port...though a port of one of the best 3D platformers there is! Still Its incredibly cheap of Ubisoft to just whack this out without much new, would have been nice if it had the first Rayman too. So the scores...wel at the time of posting only NGamer has reviewed it and they say its one of their lowest rated 3DS titles in fact this is a quote from the writer

QUOTE

...really loveless port. Frame rate is all over the shop and the 3D is the weakest I've seen. Pushing the depth slider seems to shunt the entire game into the background, so it just feels like playing a 2D game, slightly further away."

I really want this game but its hasn't got a date for us Europe gamers.

Steel Diver is an action-packed submarine combat game from Nintendo that immerses players in amazing 3D environments. Branching paths, split-second decisions and attacks from enemy ships make for a thrilling undersea adventure.

The mix of 3D game play and one-of-a-kind controls—using the gyroscope and touch screen of the Nintendo 3DS system—makes for an unique combination that must be experienced to be believed.

The variety in gameplay does it for me that and it is using a lot of the 3DS features too, the gyromotionmejigathing seems impressive too however like with all first party 3DS launch games the scores haven't been amazing with a average score of 7/10.

Not really into a wussy version of Rugby...yeah I make that same terrible joke with every Madden release.

Madden NFL Football for 3DS offers a unique handheld experience with authentic 11-on-11 football, 5-on-5 action and Season Mode. Additional features jump off the screen with 3D graphics, such as "Spotlight Moments" and "Call Your Shots".

Madden NFL Football brings each of the 32 NFL teams and stadiums to life with a presentation optimized for viewing in 3D, including 3D specific cameras that provide new levels of depth, making Madden NFL Football the perfect on-the-go game for every football fan. And with three types of play calling -- GameFlow, Classic, and Arcade, Madden NFL Football provides an enjoyable experience for gamers of all skill levels.

Football for Everyone -- With three types of playcalling (GameFlow, Arcade and Classic) Madden NFL Football offers an enjoyable experience for gamers of all skill levels. The GameFlow feature automatically selects the best play for the situation based on authentic NFL team gameplans. Use Arcade playcall for more control over plays or Classic to experience the full depth of your favorite team's authentic playbook.
Season Mode -- Take the reins of your favorite team on a journey to the Super Bowl! Play 11-on-11 or 5-on-5 and see if you have what it takes to make it through the rollercoaster ride of a full NFL season.
Action Packed 5-on-5 Mode -- In addition to the traditional 11-on-11 games, Madden NFL Football puts a new twist on an old style of competition. Take your game back to the neighborhood with high-scoring, fast-paced 5-on-5 action. No penalties, no play clock, just action-packed football where the first team to score a set number of touchdowns walks away with ultimate bragging rights!
Call Your Shots -- Unleash the amazing power of the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen to draw up your own plays on the fly! Whether on offense or defense, you can create the ultimate audible at the line of scrimmage.
Spotlight Moments -- Experience the drama of game-changing plays with Spotlight Moments in 3D. During pivotal moments, cameras move in tight and gameplay slows down to allow you to influence the biggest plays of the game. Whether evading a sack, making an open field tackle, or leaving a defender in the dust, it's up to you to make the key move when Spotlight Moments put you in the limelight.

I hope its good for fans of (American) football.

These games really sell? No one seems to like them at all and yet Ubisoft keep pumping them out. It did really badly in Japan apparently.

So far this has the worst scores for 3DS games...ouch Ubisoft way to shit on the line up!

I don't like the launch titles, ubisoft has been getting terrible reviews (with the exception of shadow wars).
only one worth buying is Street Fighter, but I already have that for the PS3.

After debating for a month on which one to get, I've decide to not buy any games for me, I'm just gonna buy bust a move for my girl, and maybe rabbids for my son when it comes out a couple of weeks after the 3DS is release.
I'm gonna wait for real games.

I did actually write this last month when I did do that thread but there was an forum error with quotes so I couldn't finish it to when I had time.

As for the comments, its what I do, its not meant to be informative it is meant to be a discussion, I say my shit, members say theirs. Its sorta retro GBAtemp, you know before the furries came in

Because of my undying (and somehow very resilient) love for the Warriors series, I'll definitely buy Chronicle, though I'm really looking forward to Dynasty Warriors 3D.

Yeah I do admit since the scores of a lot of them (especially Nintendo's own) the line up isn't so good anymore, still beats some line ups though.
