Using my sd card, not a HDD, everything is on SD card.

Yes, my sd card is fat 32.
Yes, I’ve got the newest updates of nintendont from Github.

I have no idea why it isn’t working, my Wii games are running perfectly on USBLoader GX, which are also on the sd card.

I don’t know why it what the problem is. I can’t find anything anywhere about the problem.

Isn't there a .ini file or a settings.xml file for Nintendont?
It's been months since I last turned on my Wii, and it's been over a year since I used Nintendont, I can't remember exactly.

Anyway, if there is a settings/config file, modify it and change "FAT" to "SD".

Or redownload Nintendont, replace boot.dol and meta.xml.

The guide on the GitHub doesn’t show a settings/config file to download, and I’ve browsed through the files there and can’t seem to find one.

I’ve replaced the boot.dol and meta.xml multiple times, (which is to my knowledge basically updating) and still have no luck, i just want a damn way to play gamecube games with a different controller because I don’t have a GameCube controller anymore.

Weirdest part is? The games show up in USBLoaderGX, I click on them to play it, it loads up to Nintendont, and then shows said error.

I have it set as /SD/Games/(game name)/Game.ciso

Do they need to be ISO? I swear if that’s the problem…

Converter? I don't think so.
Just try using the... ehem... Archives... and use iso format.

If you want to trim your Gamecube iso games, use DMToolbox.
I’ve located the archives, hopefully .ISO is the problem solver for it all.

Swore I read somewhere that .ciso works, but I suppose I’ll find out.

Alright. Different problem, same kind of group.
Have it all set up properly on HDD, that’s also set to fat32,

Have it loaded as /Usb/games/(game name)/game.ISO

Now says, “usb:/games/ was not found.”

The path is probably case sensitive, try it with a lower case u

Or try remove the usb folder entirely, as the suggested path has a colon after usb, which just specifies the drive

No. ISO, GCM and CISO (although a specific CISO format - https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/issues/1004#issuecomment-1135983284) are all supported.

https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont#quick-installation

My bad, it is lowercase, usb is the root of the harddrive.
Make sure you're plugging the USB hard drive in USB port 0 and that it is MBR with FAT32 as the first partition (the second partition can be set to NTFS for Wii games if you want.)

It is plugged into port 0,

Fat 32, 32k clusters, I have the game path correct, I don’t know the problem.
Hard drive, not a flash drive.

I can’t get it to work on either my SD or HDD

The error for SD card is

“SD FAT device could not be opened”

The error for the HDD IS

“usb:/games/ was not found.”

Are you adding the games manually or with a tool?

I recommend using DMToolbox, but GamecubeBackupManager can be used instead.

I’m adding them manually, I’ve seen tons of other guides (video and text guides) do it manually and it seems they work just fine,

Have you tried to run them directly through Nintendont ? (not through GX)

There are a few ways of configuring folders & files titles.

Exactly what controller are trying to use ? Sounds like you're trying to use a WiiMote (?).

Yes I’ve tried running them through nintendont, and i haven’t even gotten as far as running a GameCube game to use a controller. But I was going to use a ps3/ps4 controller, i just need a way to play GameCube games on my Wii, without a GameCube controller*.

*(No I don’t have the Wii classic extension)

Are you always trying to start games with your controller/s plugged in ?
Unplug them & try again. Plug 'em back if you get to the desired screen.

Are you sure you didn't use NTFS ?
No there are no controllers plugged in when I start up, and yes, it’s fat32, 32 clusters. Used a fat32 formatter

Ok, have you tried removing the usb folder altogether and just have /games/ as the root?
Yeah, the file path shouldn't have a "usb" folder at all.

What the Wii specifies: <device>:/games/<ID>/game.iso ex: usb0:/games/<ID>/game.iso
Actual file path (in Windows): <drive letter>:\games\<ID>\game.iso ex: Z:\games\<ID>\game.iso

Screenshot_17.png

There is no "usb" folder.

tl;dr Use GamecubeBackupManager.

No no there’s no folder titled usb, usb is just the name of the root of the sdcard, shown in this photo (except is shows SD, because I was trying to load games on the SD card to see if it would work instead.

Neither the sd card, not the hard drive will show games on nintendont.

the two issues I’m having are these,

The error for SD card is

“SD FAT device could not be opened”

The error for the HDD IS

“usb:/games/ was not found.”

For anyone curious (maybe it’ll help more), here’s photos of a syscheck
