hell0 humans filled with red gel!
i got a little question: on one of the 3ds (old 3ds) , everything works fine with a 2GB sd card, but, once i use my homemade 16GB sd, the screen stays black on boot and never boots..why could that be?
The microSD is 16gb, and i soldered inside a micro sd adapter (had no other options..), it gets detected correctly on pc and can transfer files etc.. but one in the console, wont boot..

Maybe you accidentally bridged some pins or one of them is not making good contact and the computer is fine with that but it makes the 3DS go crazy? Try using some other normal SD card if you can
And if your 3DS is modded then make sure you have the latest Luma boot.firm and all other important files on the SD card

thanks for the reply,
it works fine without sd card and with a normal sd card.

Is there some incompatibiblities on the OLD3DS with micro sd card?

wii redo all my soldering to make sure nothing gets shorted or bridged.

It works fine with microSD cards but your soldered thing could be bad and making the 3DS go crazy

alright! so, after redoing the soldering and using a multimeter, everything looked fine..
but, i noticed there was a small ''tension'' when entering the card in the console , because of the tape piece that blocks the write-protection, so i removed the tape, the card slides smoother, and gets detected as it should!
now..i need to fill the write protection hole without adding any layers of tape.

its safe to say, my little issue is solved, i jsut need to find a little piece of anything, to fill the hole :P
