Uhm, I don't know if someone has come up with that idea, but can't you fix it with the HEX Editor?
That's what a lot of people are doing, but it always seems to fail.


About that "Nintendo itself leaking corrupted stuff", why do some emulators work with it? If you're leaking a corrupted ROM, do it good.

You didn't offend 'us' personally, but every other emulator/flashcart has had no luck with the ROM. The strange thing is that AKAIO 1.5 doesn't work with the rom, but 1.6 does. There might be something between the two updates that holds the key.

Sorry I snapped, we are all on edge cause of this "unbeatable" anti-piracy.

Yeah...everyone seems pretty riled up, nintendo really got our numbers with this one.

was the AP ever fully removed from the jap version? if so could someone post what the ap looked before on the jap version and after, then we may be able to compare the AP on the usa with it, and thus get us going in the right direction even if they have slightly different APs on them, i know this has almost definetely been mentioned already but i cant be bothered browsing for an answer on this slightly large thread (i dont think most people can blame me on that one)

the following offset is directly related to the crash

however you cannot skip this offset as it directly is used constantly in the rom every time the game crashes it reports that the dma error occurs here now then the question is what does it need to be set at in order to bypass or make it stable
im goin to continue to work on this hopefull the fix is just a stones throw away

No, even the Japanse "fixed" version isn't completely fixed T_T
But users only experience 1-2 black screens in a playthrough. And that's a lot less than the (U) version's AP.

I dont think the leaking the game early was nintendos doing ibelieve it was proberly just some retailer who got delivery early and took it upon himself to dump the game. If it was nintendo i would of thought it would of been released a little earlier than 2 days prior to release, but i guess the only way to be able to tell is for someone to dump the game today and try it out and let us kno9w there findings

the following has been tried some by me some by others

i am taking a break for the time being from testing stuff i cant anymore my eyes hurt from looking at all the code

all swaps AR codes and patches have been personally tested by me with DMA on and off



Arm7 swap from D/P/PT/jp HG/JPSS/Sim City - freezes same as normal
Arm9 swap from same - would not boot white screens
double swap from same - would not boot white screens
moving US data folder to jp rom - (see page 3 post by rvd42387)
hex code is currently being looked at
many false patches and codes from all over the internet
JP codes
JP patches
Replacing the Hex codes 00 00 00 46 to 00 00 00 00
insertion of JP overlays from a patched Jp decompiled game
Switching Overlay16 from patched JP to US (possible results I am about to test this one)
I know im probrobly missing alot but thats all i can remember at the moment

Things currently being looked into
Various hits on what could be the AP hex code found through an emulator

Jap AP is completely different than us AP.

I have ordered my acekard 2i, damn you nintendo, you really gave it to me this time, I was hoping a patch would immerge before the acekard got to my front door, but I was hoping to atleast play it for a while and get ssomewhere before then but nooooooooooooo.

oh and i've been following this thread heavily and i really just wanna say thank you to any and everyone doing their part to get the game working properly on all emulators and carts for no profit and for the sake of the community. despite all the pointless babble, stupid jokes and sarcastic arguments that have flooded this thread, your work is reaaally appreciated and please keep up the good work. thanks.

You will need to read the ASM in real time to monitor accesses to that address.

Something hit me, again. Like around page 80/90 people were talking about the Bowser's Inside story AP, and I remember that one. Has anyone tried to compare HG/SS to that game? It's just an idea, but maybe they're using a similar AP. If that were true, it would be a lot easier.
