i just tested the speed code and the encounter code i didn't need the master code for those . check that your file has the correct name corresponding to the right version E335DE2BF4DCD951 for violet the one for scarlet is somewhere in the thread

I'm on switch too and even when only master code is on (can't turn it off) game just crashes when trying to fight.
