I'll be releasing the .dat tomorrow. Not all codes have been Sourced, but I think it's unfair to everyone that they're missing out on codes that have been added recently.

This is not my complete copy that has over 100+ games sourced, it's a smaller copy that only has 30+ games sourced/confirmed that they're from the correct source.

I will be starting a new topic at the same time, with a changelog and other notices that would help reflect trouble away from me as a precaution.

With completely inaccurate information nonetheless. If you don't like the fact that I'm going to use a new topic. Too bad.

This is not a topic size contest.

Actually, I have a system in place. Basically, if you piss me off too much, I'll IP ban you from the link. That way, you'll have to beg someone else to get the CHEAT.dat

And if you piss me off even more, I'll hostname ban you from the link. And if you piss me off even more, I'll IP ban your country.

sorry, I just think it's kind of sad to start a new topic instead of using this one, when it now has 100 pages!

EDIT: as of this post, at least.

If I might make a small suggestion for the new thread.....

I think it's time some of these people learn to use the code editor themselves. I know some know how to use the editor, but many don't. Maybe have the first post in the thread be a sort of tutorial on using the editors, with pics and FAQs......maybe links to some how to's and stuff. If more people could add codes to their own dat, maintaining a reference dat could be a lot less stressful. I'm noticing that you're already starting to get a little irritated...I understand that perfectly.

I suggested something along those lines awhile back in this thread for an all new thread, just to sort of start fresh, but I suck at setting something like that up and no one wanted to attempt it.

I'm not saying that it HAS to be that way or anything......just a thought, to ease your aggravation levels. The dat is your baby now. And you're doing a fine job I might add.

Lol, the only reason why I'm irritated is because of the lack of communication/people not reading the posts.

A tutorial for the Cheat Editor would be nice, and something I 'should' add when I have the time.

I'll be posting the new .dat files on post #1 every update and I'm going to keep archives of previous .dat files just in-case the .dat breaks and someone overwrote theirs without backing up their previous one.

I'm not too familiar with the cheat editor (I understand Yasu's one is the best), but maybe we can ask Yasu for new features that can make a combined effort more easy. Sort of like a CVS system for a CHEAT.DAT. That's rather impossible, but I've been thinking about some system/feature that enables merging cheats to a .DAT. That way people can either merge parts offered for download here, or offer parts here that can be merged with Grimalkin's .DAT. Of course something like this would need quite some standards to be set so things won't get messy.

I'm sure there are better ideas to make maintaining the .DAT more easy that don't require non existing features of cheat code editors though

I'm already making an CHEAT.dat appending program. Which will work by allowing people to submit a usrcheat.dat or .xml file (with proper headers and stuff). Basically, it'll search the cheat.dat for the game ID and add it to the proper game. The only problem is I don't understand how the encryption works (I could just open it in Yasu's and then save it again >.> but that's stupid), and I don't have a lot of time program it. Also, I need to add a method to search for previously added codes so that they're not added twice.

Right now, it's all in the works. Hopefully I can get it done, if not, it'll probably never see the light of day.

Sounds like an awesome idea. Hope you can pull it off. Personally, I couldn't program a bat file. LOL.

If needed I'll make a tutorial of sorts, just in case people are completely clueless of how to use the program. Or even get it.

I'm thinking I should just make an automated script that navigates Yasu's Program for me, less programming and much more primitive lol.

We(more like 'I') tend to stay away from adding cheats to Japanese games unless they're popular. But like I said earlier, if you want codes added to the list, post them here. And please be specific.

Tales of the Tempest codes have been added for next release.

With the Walkthroughs on www.gamebrink.com you can play:

Tales of the Tempest
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Subarashiki Kono Sekai: It's a Wonderful World (Very cool in Manga Style)

They are very popular!

The Codes from Hie-YHH are working perfect!

Thx for your work!

Notes:
* These are asm hacks, meaning the game will think the cheats are unlocked, but they won't really be. You'll just be able to access them while the code is on.

well these "Cheat pseudo-enabled" codes will also let you any 'not-enabled' menu, like the logo editor, the sound editor... Added some asm-hacked money codes.

in case you wanna reset the money, change the '5040' value by '5047', it'll then give you 0$.

Grimalkin, here are some binaries/source files for the R4 encryption/decryption algorithms. Credits to chishm and Yasu.

I believe chishm once said Yasu's implementation was the most efficient/easy. It's the r4denc.zip archive.

http://www.zshare.net/download/4660016eaf7633/

Good luck with your tool, sounds like the ideal thing!

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but i cant seem to get the cheat file to work. I put it in the root directory of my R4 then when i go to open a game there's no options for any cheats. I do have games on my R4 that are compatible with the cheats. Can anyone help?? I have renamed my games so the original names for the files are different if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help.
