I'm not justifying piracy here. Thing is, even if all the reasons I mention wouldn't be an issue, I still have no moral issues with piracy in most cases.
Pirating is not like shoplifting or stealing. You make a copy, you don't remove the original from the owner. If you pirate something you otherwise wouldn't pay for (no matter what reason), there is no victim, and I don't think it's wrong.
Now in the case of me pirating a game I would otherwise eventually buy because it gets a very late European release due to stupid policies, there are victims, namely Nintendo and the publisher. I however don't think it's unfair because these are the consequences of their consumer unfriendly actions. As I said, if they didn't have these dumb policies and I could buy the game from the EUR eshop now, or from the US eshop, I would. Me pirating is against the law, but that doesn't necessarily make it immoral. If you think something illegal is always wrong because it's illegal, you really have a few steps to make in your moral development.
