Freaked out for a second about the exploit being USB-port specific... I've got a phat H01 with only two USB ports, and one is mangled beyond repair. Thankfully, it's the right one that's still intact.

Even better, I've already got NieR and Tales of Vesperia downloaded from when I was trying to run them on RPCS3.

Come on.... SuperSlim users forgotten again??? If there is no need for downgrade anymore then why is this not compatible with superslims?? :nayps3:

Unfortunately, most CFW installation methods still rely on exploits that were patched out seven years ago. The only feasible way (at the moment) is to at least partially downgrade the system to an older firmware where the exploits still worked, but PS3s that can't downgrade that far will brick if you try to do that.

It sounds like there might still be an exploit for slim/super slim consoles in the future, but it requires rethinking the problem entirely. I don't know how long it'll actually take, though.

I've been trying to NOR write (CECHK), and I've been able to get "success..." a couple times, but it just locks up. My system is frozen, so there's a degree of progress, I'm led to believe, but it's been about 10 minutes now and nothing's happening. Both other times when i got the success message, it just froze up for over 5 minutes as well.
Can anyone help me out? All I have on my USB is the flsh.hex file, and i just wanna get some 'brew running on my ps3.

EDIT: Gonna check this out now, from what i can tell the guy who retweeted this is big in the ps3 brew scene so I'd take it as legit, I'll edit again and say if it worked or not

Edit 2: Didn't end up working for me, from xmb or recovery, but your mileage may vary I suppose.

I wish that too, but it doesn't work that way with this, as this is basically a software exploit (free method) that doesn't depend on a E3 flasher (paid for - hard mod) anymore. The same restrictions apply with this, the same the E3 flasher cannot do with non downgradable factory 3.56 consoles, etc. Superslim users have not been shit on, it's the security SONY put in place that has not been fully cracked open after all these years.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

@BigOnYa, Then i think people were talking about fallout 76

    that one was buggy too
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, I may probably download fallout 3 or new vegas on my ps3
