The User Guide:

Indeed it doesn't survive a reboot (sleep works though like @Dustii said above) and there's no permanent install option at this time and wont be in the near future.. I guess that answers that :P

Thats weird because I was told it was persistent.... perhaps I have crossed wires, but its definitely oni-framework.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It would be cool for it to be persistent, but honestly I'm just glad we're getting an updated kernel at this point :P If a full persistent CFW comes from this then.. Bonus! :)

I now kinda regret that I updated my PRO to the latest firm.
But I still have a stock PS4 at 5.05 ....

Am glad I didn't update my Pro :D

@KiiWii I didn't give into my friend enticing me to update by offering his digital copy of God of War :P I almost got swayed, but then I started Far Cry 5 on PC and kept God of War on hold. Am just so glad I didn't update :D

I wonder whether we will ever see a way to play newer games down the line. I know that cracking the newer firmware revisions would be required or some type of spoofing method, but I'm thinking where there's a will there's a way given that we still have some great titles on the horizon.

Yeah, I'm happy for you mate....*Angry noises*
"Comes up with something that will make the anxiety go away".... Why cripple the good "powerful" system when you can play games the legit way on it, then have a secondary machine just for those homebrew stuff.... Yeah that's it, I'm smart! not that totally fucked it up by updating the pro the day before hearing about this... no .. no...

I can totally understand your feeling. Am glad that you can afford to have a second PS4. I simply can't, mostly because in my country, a PS4 is exorbitantly costly. I got SUPER LUCKY with my PS4 Pro. Got it from a friend who went to Dubai, told him to ditch the box, and he got lucky by not getting held up in customs at the airport :)

Saw a video like "Playing Ouya in 202x" a while ago, it was too much work for too little console.

Well in today's standards Walmart media box would be 10x better

    That's really cool.

Sorry you're not good with Windows Sylvester. lol
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Because co-pilot doesnt even show up on my pc. Not in the taskbar, not in the start menu search, and the option in settings to turn it on and off in the taskbar is not even displayed.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Well, I complain about Microsoft all the time. You seem to enjoy it, no offense. If you like using Windows, that's fine by me.

Being able to disable copilot is not an opinion. lol. its a fact that it can be disabled.

Yet you just laugh about it when I tell you, like Im lying
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
People can dislike Windows all they want. But I will call out the over-exaggerations, misconceptions, half truths, and lies about it.

Tired of the entire "BUT BUT BUT WINDOWZ SPYWARE!!!" thing too, when the same people give out tons of their personal info to plenty of other companies but say nothing about it.

@RedColoredStars, Companies do the exact same thing with other companies as well, so it's not just Microsoft. There are 3rd-parties like 'data brokers'.

I'm 52 years old and one of my jobs in life was marketing research. Im well aware. I've been online for around 30 years. Everyone and their grandmother already has my personal information. One more having my email address isn't ruining my life or even effecting me in any way whatsoever.

In fact. I freely give info. Stuff like gasoline apps, to save $, grocery apps, lots of cash back from rakuten, etc. etc.

$300 back last year from Rakuten for allowing them to track my purchase. I'll take the money for them to know I bought a bunch of stuff for my cat and some video games. lol

No matter what you sign up for your info is out there

    @K3Nv2, Exactly.

And for people to say things like "But I use all fake info". No, they don't. lol. They use fake info for all of their banking and online shopping? Fake shipping address, fake payment info? lol
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Fake name, address and payment info for internet service, etc? lol. Ill say it again. Everyone freaks out about OMG WINDOWS!! But crickets on anything else they do.
