I'd like to know why people give a shit about the legalities of this. like why do you care? honestly? are you THAT loyal to a fucking company that'd you'd say emulators are illegal and the people that use them are thieves? why do you care about what people do in their time? it's their life, they can do whatever they damn well please. you wanna download an emulator and/or download some isos? go for it. how does this effect you in any way? "oh no my favorite multi MILLION dollar company might lose sales boo hoo"

did you know people who are fans of nintendo actually find projects like these and try to bitch to nintendo about it because it might be "infringing on their rights"

just stop being fanboys.

very well said, those people are nintendo's teachers pet. how is it our problem that Nintendo didn't secure their s**t?.

Question: Why is it called Cemu should it be called Wii Emu *badda pisshhh*

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'd like to know how the hell are we getting last gen emulators all of a sudden?

we have xenia, rpcs3 and now this and rpcs3 is beginning to run games at 60fps:

emulation is just hitting a vocal point. it's crazy

also, free emulator JUST posted this:

Wait, I don't think it's not legit, but the two image I saw of the emulator in work yet says 257 or 138 FPS

IT's very high for a wii u emulator for these day, no?
It's not very demanding to emulate a static image with another images doing some shimering effect on a loading screen, rendering the actual game is slow as hell.

Should I be able to get picture with an HD6850? I'm trying multiple images and Cemu reports FPS after loading, but the screen remains black. I'm trying with Pikmin 3, Splatoon and Super Mario 3D World.

EDIT: Pikmin continues to crash, although Splatoon and SM3DW seem to run, albeit without picture.

So question, the whole DirectX 12 thing was about the OTHER, Open Source emulator. So, does this one also needs it and Win 10, or can it run on Win 7?

Does this emu actually run any good smooth, anyone tested it yet?. I can't imagine it to run at all, we can't even get 360 titles to run so this has no hope I would of thought? it must be really glitchy etc.. the fps rate must be terrible?

I present to you Cemu. World's first Wii U emulator capable of running and rendering commercial games!

Quick facts:
  • Can run encrypted Wii U images (WUD) and RPX/RPL files
  • Internal resolution is 1920x1080 (if supported by game)
  • For controller input see here.
  • Contains basically no optimizations. Expect slow framerates and long load times.
  • Windows x64 only (other platforms may be supported later)
  • Requires OpenGL 3.3
    • Tested on NVIDIA: Runs fine on most recent driver
    • Tested on Intel: Garbled output but runs if OpenGL version is supported
    • Untested on AMD

Download:

Version 1.0.0 (Win x64)

FAQ:
Can the controller be configured?
Not yet, it's locked to using the GamePad via keyboard. Proper controller support will come in a future release.

Can I run extracted games?
No, when launching a Wii U executable directly (.rpx) no external files are supported. If you want to run a game, it needs to be in raw dump format (WUD or ISO).

Is there supposed to be sound?
No, audio is not yet supported.

What's next?
The current plan is to release new updates at least every two weeks. A more detailed roadmap is in the works.

Fucking good job Exzap :)

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
