Recently decided to RGH3 my Falcon. I love that you can do it without any proprietary hardware now thanks to PicoFlasher.
Turns out my 360 stopped reading discs, so the timing was perfect. It'll still read them occasionally, so maybe the laser just needs cleaning. I don't think the laser is especially dirty, the 360 was only slightly dusty inside, but I suppose it doesn't take much.
This is the smallest soldering I've ever done, install went without problems though.
For the J-Runner settings, I used 27 Mhz, rather than 10 Mhz as the guides recommend, as multiple people I found online said that 10 Mhz was stable outside of the case but was not stable for them or didn't work at all when the case was back together (something to do with the RF shielding screwing with stability), and I didn't want to put the case back together just to have to take it apart again to flash a different firmware. 27 Mhz seems to be more stable for people on phats.
Apparently RGH3 is not as reliable on phats (Falcon/Jasper) as it is on slims, but seems to be working well for me so far.
