Hacking [Rumor]Waninkoko to release CFW for PS3

Installed on my launch 20 gig model, and appears to have bricked. Will not turn on, rather light goes green for a second, then flashes red. Any help or explanation would be great.

I believe there could have been some confusion as to what wanikoko ment when he said "in case you're already in 3.55 you need to install it in recovery mode"

I was still on 3.41 so just installed normally.

Can you launch into recovery mode?

If you can try and install the 3.55 OFW.

So I take it after being on 3.55, update from recovery?

Someone has said that they have successfully installed directly over 3.41 and it has worked. But I'll go with that waninkoko has said and insatll 3.55 and install via recovery.

Wait, in order to install 3.55 OFW from 3.55 GeoHot, do I need recovery?

If you can try and install the 3.55 OFW.

Doesn't look like it, although I've never tried getting into recovery mode before, so it could be I'm doing it wrong.

No. You can just update to OFW from the XMB menu.

(3.55 OFW --->) 3.55 GH ---> 3.55 OFW ---> 3.55 Waninkoko on a Slim, is that OK? I WAS on 3.55 OFW before GH, hence the brackets. I'm currently on 3.55 GH, hence the underline.

Did you make sure the hash on your file was correct? Installing a corrupt update is a surefire way to get a brick!

I don't want to give anyone false hope but if you got a brick you can always try opening up the PS3 and shorting the battery pins on the mobo. It got me out of an infinite FW install loop once

Was on 3.41 on a 20 gig launch model. I followed read me instructions, just saw "in case you're already in 3.55 you need to install it in recovery mode" and figured that meant since I wasn't on 3.55 yet, I didn't have to worry, and could install like it was the OFW. Now it just blinks red at me.
