Gaming Shutdown command

Hi,
What happens if DS software sends a shutdown command? (For exaple Nintendogs game can do this)
Will the 3DS power off or just return to menu?

it will return tot the home menu if i am correct

It gives you the same message as when you manually quit a program using the power button. I'm not sure what it says in English, but it's something like "The software has been shut down". I tried it just now. Also, Pictochat Search does not seem to work

You get a message along the lines of "This software is trying to shut down the system"
and then they go on to tell you how amazing sleep mode is and stuff.
