  • Cool Spot - EUR & JAP & USA - O3DS & N3DS: I played the first Level. The Numbers in the Timer are glitched up.
The numbers look fine when In-Frame Palette Changes are set to Enabled or Disabled Style 1. On the latter, the background looks different. Then again, I'm using the US version.

Ah nice! No haven´t! Thanks for letting me know. :) I will retest the games with different Palette Styles and update the wiki!

Thanks a lot for the hardwork in updating the compatibility list.

Some of the racing games uses in-frame palette changes to draw the lane dividers on the roads. But the hardware renderer for this port will never be able to handle that unfortunately. :(

I have missing audio troubles when I am playing Earthworm Jim 2 with snes9x last release.
That can be checked easily when game is starting on main title when Jim is playing accordeon, or in game when he is shooting with particular guns or when Jim is using Snott after we press "B" button after jumping. We don't hear also "Groovy" when he is taking a life in a level.
I didn't get this issue with first Earthworm Jim.
Is it possible to have a look to this issue ?

Hmm... From what I understand, Earthworm Jim 2 streams music into the SPC700 chip. I guess there's a lot of precise timing involved. And the fact that we've detached the SPC700 sound emulation into a separate parallel thread in order to make this Snes9x port run full speed on an old 3DS, means that the synchronization between the main CPU and the sound generation will be off ... if that makes sense.

Ok to summarize, it's going to be tough to fix this. :)

I thought so. The Palette Errors go back to Version 0.50 at least.

I believe this Sound Issue occurs in Secret of Evermore as well.

Is the sfx2 chip completely emulated or is it only limited emulation with the math being done by the 3ds natively?

Yes it is. It plays Yoshi's Island quite well (albeit with some minor graphical glitches. Winter's Gold works too.

Doom 2 is too slow to run even on the 3DS.

Edit: I meant for the New 3DSes. Old 3DS is too slow to emulate Super FX.

@bubble2k16 I realize that you are probably quite busy right now... But if you find time later, would you consider experimenting with adding the blargSNES audio emulation or another, more accurate option to this as an option on N3DS - like how your Picodrive port has improved audio for N3DS users?

Hmm... The PicoDrive port only uses a different sampling rate for Old/New 3DSes. This sounds like swapping out a new core for the emulator. I'm not likely to do this though... is the current Snes9x sound that bad? :)

V3 partch Tengai Makyou Zero https://www.romhacking.net/translations/3243/ work on Snes9x 1.21 ?

Not for now I guess, since the current v1.21 only supports Version 1.0 of the patch. I can look into this if I have some time. But it's probably going to be after I settle some issues PicoDrive first. :)

The sound is great for most games, but some have sounds that are "off" from the original, like the charge beam SFX in Super Metroid.

@bubble2k16 I tested the BS-X/ Satellaview Games with the Snes9x Version 1.21.
I posted the more important results in my Review post on page 103 of this Thread.
