If I buy it does anyone know will it have the same issue as previous PlayStations that since we are locked in at a low firmware we cannot play games that are above the current modable firmware update? I know this is somewhat theoretical and there is no hypervisor exploit yet.

In a word, yes.

If we get the ability to play fpkg games, they will be from dumps up to 4.xx.

Unless we get decrypted dumps from 5.xx-7.xx and get them backported, we might be stuck.

As we don't even have fpkg games playable yet, I think it's kinda hard to extrapolate which games might be playable.

Presumably Sony could play games with the PKG on PSN once any hack is out.

Note that it’s not 4.50 because his console is on 4.00.

Generally lower firmware have more bugs, so firmware 1.00 is more valuable but it has more bugs, and usually first batch unit have some sort of problem. I seen 1x 1.00 firmware unit goes for $3600 usd asking price.

I imagine this will be a problem for the PS5 *if and when we see a public hypervisor exploit, with the hackerone program I imagine this may prolong a public exploit, but I could be wrong.
