After Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic's launch on the Nintendo Switch last November, the sequel, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is now available on the system. The game is now available to purchase on the eShop for $14.99|£12.59|14€, as well as in a bundle with the original KOTOR for $29.99|£23.88|26,49€.

Also announced is The Sith Lords Restored Content DLC which will be available as a free download post-launch which includes a new mission and new ending.

The Sith Lords have hunted the Jedi to the edge of extinction and are on the verge of crushing the Old Republic. With the Jedi Order in ruin, the Republic’s only hope is a lone Jedi in exile struggling to reconnect with the Force. Lead a diverse crew of unique allies, make difficult choices with far-reaching consequences, and decide your destiny. Will you follow the light side and save the galaxy, or succumb to the dark side and bring it all down?

Key features of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords on the Nintendo Switch include:
  • A Standalone Sequel: Experience the follow-up to the acclaimed STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic™ in this original RPG epic set in the darkest days of the Old Republic.
  • Choose Your Destiny: Discover your past and make difficult choices that aren’t as clear-cut as “good or evil.” Each decision can have a significant impact on your story and your squad. Will you uphold the Jedi Order, or lead the galaxy to ruin?
  • Master the Force: Choose from three different Jedi classes, each able to wield specific Force powers, and customize your characters with unique skills and abilities.
  • Lead Your Crew: Command a party of diverse crewmates, each with their own strengths, alignments and nuanced back stories. Your actions will influence your crew’s destinies, but not everyone may agree with the choices you make…
  • The Sith Lords Restored Content DLC*: Expand your experience even further with this incredible collection of content featuring new crew dialogue and interactions, a bonus mission starring HK-47, and a new revamped ending, coming as free DLC post-launch.
While Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was originally launched in 2004 and has been ported to multiple systems since, including mobile platforms, and being now available on the Switch makes it an option to get into it if you haven't been able to until now.

[UPDATE]

Following reports that the game could not be completed by certain players on the Nintendo Switch due to a bug, Aspyr released the following statement to address those concerns.

"We're aware of an issue that is preventing some STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords players from advancing in the game. Our data suggests that this is only affecting a small number of users but please rest assured that we're working on a patch to fix it. For users who have encountered this issue please visit our FAQ for temporary workarounds and follow @AspyrMedia on Twitter for updates."

not sure why a game from 2004 they not including the DLC and making them seperate purchases. At this point the game should be an ultimate edition with all DLCs included.

Yeah, need to know how much was included in the release, and how much ends up in the dlc. If it at least includes the TSLRP and M4-78 planet stuff, I welcome getting it all over again.
AFAIK that's it, and don't count on Aspyr doing any development on additional stuff of their own. Repackaged mod, though properly credited, apparently.

The tslrp and m4-78 were restoration mods, done by the community. Splicing data mined from the PC and og Xbox disc sources.

More recently the steam version of the game received a sizable update, enabling it to run nicer on modern operating systems, but also supporting the workshop to be able to manage the sheer number of mods made since.

The original game never had DLC on PC. The restoration of the lost content was originally a group of fans trying to release it as a mod. My guess is there are some workarounds for getting that restored content running on the switch as DLC.

Only played KOTOR 1, tried the switch port also and it was pretty neat, will play KOTOR 2 on switch but i think I'll wait for the DLC first.
