That I know, it's on the board memory. But are the saves "signed" by the cartride unique id? Or I can use any dump with the same game id out there and the save will work?
If you dump them from via jksv the output you get is fully card and console independent.
You could still dump the gamecards yourself via nxdumptool if you want to, would be the more legal and depending on the download speed faster way.

I believe that's correct since you're installing games via USB, just install updates and DLC the same way. Installer should put them into the correct folder.
I personally use DBI Installer in order to install my games, updates and DLC so I have no experience with Tinfoil.

Thanks alot!!

Is DBI simple and easy to use?
I am not super good with tech so i always go with the simplest way, maybe DBI is better than tinfoil for me

It's really simple to use as soon as you set it up correctly. Here's a YouTube video about it's usage.
In video description, there's an explanation on how to make the connection between DBI app on Switch and DBI server on PC work.

Thanks alot man 😉

I'll have a look at it and see what it's like.
You're welcome! Installing LIBUSBK driver for DBI can be a bit finicky and I know I had some trouble with it due to steps not being explained in detail, but if I remember correctly, you need to:
  1. Connect the Switch to the PC.
  2. Run dbibackend.exe, select one of your games/updates/DLC files (just to test the connection between Switch and PC) and start the server.
  3. Run DBI on Switch and select "Install title from DBI backend". If it works, it works! But it probably won't, so proceed with the next step.
  4. Run Zadig.
  5. Hopefully, DBI will be listed in the dropdown menu (make sure that your start the server in dbibackend).
  6. If it's there, click on the install driver button (LIBUSBK driver should be selected).
  7. After that, you'll probably need to restart the server in dbibackend.exe and restart your DBI app on Switch. Hopefully, it should work now.
In case you can't make it work, I'll check once on PC and give you the correct steps. Good luck!

i have a modchipped switch and because i want to maximize my emunand space i prefer to keep my few sysnand games completely in system memory and not the sd card. the issue here is that while you can simply move games back and forth, you cannot move update files for games, and when the switch has an sd card inserted it always defaults to downloading updates straight to the sd. and because my switch is modchipped there seems to be no way to boot it without an sd that i know of. so my question is does anyone know how to bypass the modchip for a single boot just straight into OFW so that i can download these updates without an sd card inserted?

worst case scenario i can just unplug the ribbon cables on the chip i guess but i’d rather not have to take it apart again rn

I believe that you boot into OFW on hardmodded Switches by holding both volume + and - buttons while it's booting, but don't hold it for too long because it'll boot into maintenance mode (as soon as you see Nintendo logo, you can release it, I think).

I have a mod-chipped v2 and am wondering if there is some sort of homebrew I can run that will reboot to Hakate or Reboot to OFW. I find it a pain in the butt to have to hold down the power button.

Hell even a homebrew app that just shutdown or reboots the console would work.

Hello guys, I have a question regarding my son nintendo switch lite bought in 2020, I now can see the blue screen and I thought there is some digansotic tool that I can use to see what is going wrong there. Is it a memory chip issue? how can we debug the issue? any starting points for diagnosing software that can be used?

Blue screen means there is a problem with the hardware, probably some component gone bad.
