I've got a question regarding bans on SysNAND, and I want to make sure I've got my facts right:

Simply loading into SysNAND with CFW loaded doesn't get you banned as long as you don't run any homebrew.

Does using Switch OC Suite get you banned? And if you're playing single-player games, can you use fps mods and/or FPS Locker? Assuming I don't use any other homebrew on the SysNAND side of things.
But using FPS mods is homebrew. You always have a higher chance of getting banned using mods and/or cheats online.

After updating my switch firmware to 17.0.1 I tried to update my atmosphere version as well but then I can't turn on my switch device.
I used the SX pro hack in the past so I'm starting my switch when the sx rmc is inside and pressing (vol+) + power.
I followed the rentry.org / SwitchHackingIsEasy (I can't insert this as link so just remove the spaces) guide for the update (and used the sigPatches provided in the link as well) and the hekate_ipl.ini is as shows in the link.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Do you have AutoRCM?

Hello, I was playing Smash Bros on my Switch and was turning off/on some mods and suddenly my Switch crashed with the following error message. After rebooting it, it seems to be working fine now though. Should I be worried about anything? I'm currently on CFW 17.0.1 and Atmosphere 1.6.2

So I don't know if it's a question for @SciresM or the guys who work on the Tesla overlay menu

But would it be possible to add text to speech to the console? Some games have that feature but not many. Nintendo seems not to bother adding it.

I know there are many free tts or open source tts programs available by now maybe someone can port it to the console.... It would really be a game changer for many players...

Hi! Recently modded the switch (like, two days ago) and it went smoothly, even added themes already, however im stumped at getting a mod to work...

Main issue: when loading up the mod manager, both versions, the mod is labeled as inactive, and doesn't change after trying to install it or pressing Y. Ive also gone into the game to see if the changes i want are happening, they are not.
What ive done: followed the mod mangers guide on how to install and make folders, as well as making a folder in a Atmosphere/content/gameId path

Things worth mentioning; Im using a north american switch, a european(german) copy of totk, ensured the gameID is works for european version, the mod im using is the anthro wolf link mod and no other ones. also made sure the mod is compatible with the version of totk i have. Used the rcm jig method.

I really tried to find a solution but i dont know what exactly to do anymore. any help is super appreciated

Is installing a modchip into a switch really THAT hard? The guide makes it seem like it takes years of skill and practice to do. Do I really have such a low chance of doing this with no experience in soldering beforehand? I'm not really a stranger when it comes to modding controllers, and I truly think I can learn to do this. How hard can it be?

With absolutely no experience, I don't know if it would be wise for you to attempt it. I have some experience installing a modchip in the OG XBOX, and also a few PlayStation consoles several years ago, but I wouldn't try installing a modchip in a Switch. The motherboard is much tinier than those old consoles. Let's put it this way, if you can afford to buy another Switch, in case you mess up the installation, have at it. Hope for the best, but expect the worst. You should really practice a little first, though. Buy a cheap electronic in a local store, crack it open, and try removing components, then re-installing them, and see if the thing still works.

Yeah, this was my plan. I wouldn't have my only switch's motherboard be the first and only thing I have soldered, I would use some of the random electronics bits I have around to test, and try to be good at soldering.

You need a microscopic camera and a tiny solder iron tip also. Good luck. FYI you can get a modchip installed for around $100-150, (cheaper than buying a new Switch) so keep that in mind.

What @BigOnYa said. I'd recommend the PC method.

When updating Switch, you can go straight to the latest one, which is 17.0.1. Note that if you blanked your prodinfo, you should restore it prior to updating to 17.0.0 or newer. Also, if you have a custom theme, uninstall it before you update your firmware.

Nintendo doesn't use the incremental type of updates, but rather the full updates, for both HOS and games. An incremental update contains only the changes or difference from the previous update. The good news is that you keep your sanity when trying to update a game, just having to hunt down the latest version. But the bad news come with devs/publishers who think bandwidth and time is infinite. (Yes, I'm looking at you, Mortal Kombat updates! )

Yes! I hate that, when they pump out 10-15gb updates monthly. Not to mention all the cheat users that wonder why cheat code creators don't update the cheats regularly, because that's why.

I don't mind the very frequent updates as much as the huge ones, like the aforementioned Mortal Kombat, each of its updates weighing in at 30+ GB each. But I agree for cheat creators, the very frequent ones must be a nightmare.

Can I just use a magnifying glass on an arm I have? I have pretty good vision. Or is this stuff really that small I have no chance of seeing what I am doing? And on the cheaper part, I don't think it really is for me. Also I can't really mail my switch out. Currently I'm about to win an auction on ebay for a possibly moddable v1 switch listed as for parts for 30$. I'll try to figure out the problem, get it working, and then see if it can be modded without a chip. Hopefully that is the case, but if not, I can mod that switch without having to worry about ruining my good switch.

You can watch a few youtube videos to get an idea of how small everything is. This video was filmed thru a microscopic camera:

Has anyone using DBI encountered this issue when trying to connect to PC using MTP responder?

"waiting interface to be ready: failed"

It was working this morning. using the same cable etc, but suddenly won't work anymore.

Try rebooting the Switch and/or PC. If still not work after that, try deleting/reinstalling DBI.
