After thinking weeks about this, I finally decided to reply here.
I get a "you use ad blocker, turn it off" message every click I do on the temp now ....
Not good. Could start a downward spiral.

That doesn't sound good at all – to put it mildly.
Sometimes I get the feeling online advertising might have peaked and might become an unstable way of funding things.
Someone still doesn't seem to know how the ads on the internet work. But you do you.
Is this the kind of
"Ads are based on your browsing history so it is your fault when you see bad things."-reply?
While this is partially true, this does however, not decide if the underlying ad networks serves "normal", "sketchy/questionable" or "outright scam" ads. Taboola surly is lower tier stuff (didn't see any of that… gone already?)
Well. I pushed myself (crying in agony), disabled Pi-Hole and created a brand new browser profile without
condom browser extensions. No search history. No cookies. Nothing for
"personalized experience".
This is what I got after clicking into the 3DS forum:
A Lottery and
"Get rich by AI-Trading"
It was able to determine I'm in Germany – somewhat. Other ads I got served were in Finnish language.
At least the "Get rich – millionaire trading trick" stuff is what I would file under spam (or worse). Didn't find any report button or similar. The flag(?) symbol on the upper right corner did nothing.

Not really sure if my reply here is a fully good idea (the screenshots should probably have gone into the sticky thread about ads).
Again my personal opinion: Anybody regularly using this site being able to afford it, should consider paying a bit. Surely a better way to support GBAtemp than by hoping allowing ads on your computer will create enough revenue.
