Yeah I thought I remembered hearing about that. Good that it's in progress then, but these are massive projects that take a lot of time, we can't expect them to have an instant effect.
You thought you remembered? It literally just happened. And now you are here to make excuses.
Yes, and I remember several new projects starting up in my area immediately afterward. They were all finished years ago, but there still wasn't enough funding to address the problems with much of our older infrastructure.
I remember "shovel-ready" projects as the selling point. Guess that was a lie like the keeping your doctor promise.
Ten billion is a drop in the bucket, especially if most of it went to commuter railways. I doubt even Biden's bill added enough funding to fix everything that needs it, but we'll see.
Look at you over there simping. I don't think I've ever seen you smile like that before. Makes you feel good doesn't it.
Certainly a lot more progress could've been made by now if Trump had actually done anything during one of a hundred weeks he declared to be "infrastructure week." However, when one specific corporation is involved in back-to-back derailments, almost all responsibility and blame should rightly fall on them. Norfolk Southern are prioritizing short-term profit over long-term safety and stability, and I hope everyone affected by these disasters sues them into oblivion.
There it is. Blame the bad orange man when the guy before him failed and the guy after him is in the process of failing. That is the very definition of simping. No wonder you are an expert on the topic.
When you simp for any billionaire, you're giving all of them cover to continue on with the dysfunctional status quo. So maybe reconsider doing that from now on.
You want larger infrastructure packages passed, which we'll have to borrow from billionaires to finance. Instead, this is what Biden has been focusing on.

Nobody simps for billionaires harder than you do. It's actually embarrassing watching you in action.

What excuses? Were you under the impression that real life construction work gives instant gratification like Minecraft? I guess that kind of idiocy would be par for the course where you're concerned.

"I know you are but what am I" hasn't been a valid debate tactic since second grade, kid. Grow the fuck up.

"Borrow" he says, as if billionaires haven't been illegally stealing and hoarding wealth in offshore tax havens for decades. It's money that's way past due to take the tax burden off the working class.

"Muh gas stove"
Dumbest staple of conservative culture wars since the LED lightbulb debacle. Nobody gives a shit if you want to waste more of your own money on gas instead of modernizing. Even some 90% of Floridians already have an electric stove.

So "shovel-ready" was a lie like everybody on the right with common sense said it was back then. I believe we were called racist for doubting him.

Yet, you want to give more to billionaire bankers to pay for infrastructure that never gets built. Where did our money go? Do you even care? I bet you would care if the bad orange man was president right now. This is how disingenuous you are. You don't really care that we are trillions in debt to the central bankers, which means, you don't really care about how much billionaires make. All you do on here is virtue signal. You've never offered solutions but you demand it of others. Then when somebody calls you out, you call them a simp.

You know who doesn't have an electric stove?

My meme wasn't even about the gas stoves, but you are too stupid to understand that the EPA is willing to burn dangerous chemicals and create acid rain and tell you that is safe and then tell you that gas stoves, which have been in use since the 1820's are dangerous and will kill you. You actually believe that is true and you don't even question it. And you have the temerity to call me an idiotic sycophantic simp. You need to look in the mirror, son.

You have zero reading comprehension. I already mentioned projects that started in my area right after Obama's infrastructure bill passed. We were talking about Biden's 2021 bill not having a major effect yet, keep up.

Thank you for providing proof that I called out your simping first, but I already knew that to be the case. The point is it's fucking stupid to try to turn that back around on me when I'm advocating for both the taxation and prosecution of the billionaires involved here. As long as you keep dickriding Trump/Musk/Putin, you're providing cover for the billionaire shareholders and owners of Norfolk Southern as well.

Yet, you want to give more to billionaire bankers to pay for infrastructure that never gets built.
If you had been outside your basement at any time during the Obama administration you'd know that wasn't the case. Plenty of new roads and bridges were built in my area between 2008 and 2018.

Norfolk Southern initiated the chemical burn, and the gas stove ban is just as much about reducing our reliance on fossil fuels as it is about anything else. As usual, the meme you found on Facebook has no basis in reality.

Obviously, you don't live in East Palestine, Detroit, Houston or South Carolina. Normally when we spend a trillion dollars to fix things, we expect things to actually get fixed. This has not been the case and since it's Obama and Biden, you are making excuses for their failures. There's a word for that but it escapes me. :P

How am I providing cover for Norfolk Southern? I'm the one who told you they hired CETH this past Wednesday, who also was involved in other disasters like Deepwater Horizon. Now they are working with EPA to over up what is going on in East Palestine. Once again, you are projecting your failures onto me.

Apparently, not a single railway was touched during that time.

The chemical burn was signed off by two governors and the EPA.

Where do you think the electricity to power electric stoves comes from genius? Do I have to explain everything to you?

Is humiliation part of the kink with you? You seem to really enjoy being embarrassed over and over again.

If you want to go yell and curse at jacked construction/railway workers for not doing their jobs fast enough for your liking, be my guest. Be sure to record the outcome on video too.

How am I providing cover for Norfolk Southern?
By continuously attempting to deflect blame from billionaires and corporations, I don't know how I could've made that any clearer. Consistency is key: what benefits Trump and Musk also benefits Soros and Buffett, along with Norfolk Southern's shareholders. If you believe everything government does is bad, then electing Republicans can't magically make it good.

Apparently, not a single railway was touched during that time.
And you would know this how, exactly? Did you spend the last decade staring at segments of railroad in disrepair, or did you not give a second thought to it until the topic became a prime target to attempt to score political points with? Rhetorical question of course, we all know it was the latter.

The chemical burn was signed off by two governors and the EPA.
I cannot find a source for this, so please provide one. I very much doubt anyone was alerted until after the fact, as Norfolk Southern believed there was an explosion risk if they didn't initiate a controlled burn. I did find plenty of sources stating that Norfolk Southern had a long history of accidents and ignoring safety hazards prior to these latest two derailments, however.

Where do you think the electricity to power electric stoves comes from genius?
From a multitude of sources, including but not limited to solar panels, wind turbines, and hydroelectric dams. Even if your state only generates 25% of its electricity from renewable sources, that's still 25% less fossil fuels being used, now isn't it, genius? Which also translates to less reliance on adversarial foreign nations.

I'd rather go yell at the people responsible. The same people you're here simping for. It's obvious Build Back Better doesn't actually mean building anything at all, much less better.

You still haven't explained how I'm deflecting blame when I'm the one pointing out what they are doing and that they are hiding it from the public with the help of the government. I never said anything about electing Republicans. Tell me again how socialism will fix all of the country's woes and allow us to live in utopia.

You know we have Inspector Generals and Congress overseeing the departments in the executive branch, right? Their job is to make sure that money that is allocated actually gets spent for what Congress appropriates it for. I guess I do have to explain everything to you, don't it?

The controlled burn is what is causing acid rain east of Ohio now. Genius move there.

Renewables account for 6% of power in Florida and 75% comes from natural gas.

Once again, is humiliation part of the kink for you?

If that was the case we'd be on the same page. Instead you're blaming the government for the actions of a private corporation. Hell, we don't even know if there was anything wrong with the tracks, or if the train was just trying to take a turn way too fast.

Tell me again how socialism will fix all of the country's woes and allow us to live in utopia.
Sure, it's not complicated. Worker ownership of companies provides more incentive to keep themselves and their communities safe. No chance any of Norfolk Southern's executives or major shareholders live in Ohio, and they don't personally risk anything by putting the wage slaves in danger.

Not sure what that has to do with what you were responding to, sounds more like you're arguing with yourself at this point.

I'm not saying it was a good move, I'm saying they put themselves in a situation where there were no good moves available. Once the train carrying toxic chemicals derailed and crashed, they were fucked.

I don't ever expect you to ever look things up, so I went ahead and did it for you.

It doesn't surprise me that Florida is basically living in the stone age, but it remains a net benefit there and a much bigger net benefit for the majority of the nation to transition away from outdated technologies. Gas stoves/ovens run a risk of explosion, however minimal, and they can enable suicide. Ultimately irrelevant to the topic at hand though, just another mountain out of a molehill for the loonies.

Remember, just because you don't live in Ohio, or near Ohio, it doesn't mean it won't affect you. These chemicals went into the atmosphere, and polluted rivers.

The US gov's reaction and response to all this is laughable. Then again, seeing them run like headless chickens when Covid just started, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Yep, it's gonna fuck up the entire Southeast. The Southwest already has to worry about the Colorado river drying up entirely. There's not a lot of time left to hold greedy capitalists and their enablers accountable before the struggle to find clean air and water becomes all too real.

Basically if you haven't heard it. Toxic chemicals + Train+ reduced regulation= massive problem

If you don't remember, there was a railroad strike, and part of the reason that strike happened, was for, you guessed it, ensuring that the trains were up to code.

Corporations, pushed what was supposed to be a 3 per car minute check, and rushed it into a 90 seconds per car check.
Which congress interfered, at the behest of those corporations to shutdown the strike.

why do you care? they dont vote blue and you arent from america.

Is that your go-to for everyone that disagrees with you now? At this point we have to assume it's projection, so you must actually be Russian. Rough trying to avoid the draft, eh?

how would i know so much about America if i wasn't from America, and no, i not the one who lied and wont admit it.

I am blaming both. The corporation for hiring a company known to lie to the public about public health after a disaster and the government who is helping said corporation to hide what is really going on. Not sure why you can't see this, as I've said it numerous times and referenced my past comments to show you that I've said it numerous times.
Sure, it's not complicated. Worker ownership of companies provides more incentive to keep themselves and their communities safe. No chance any of Norfolk Southern's executives or major shareholders live in Ohio, and they don't personally risk anything by putting the wage slaves in danger.
So you think shareholders don't care about disasters that will inevitably lower the stock price of a company which would make them lose money. You've obviously never owned a single stock in your life. Executives, maybe since they always seem to get those golden parachutes written into their contracts.

If the workers owned the companies, they would still need to hire executives and managers to run the company. Not really sure how this would change anything, but it's your fantasy. I'm sure you've got it all figured out.
Not sure what that has to do with what you were responding to, sounds more like you're arguing with yourself at this point.
You accused me of not paying attention until I could use it to my benefit. My retort is that we already have people, many who we elected, to do this very job. It's written in the Constitution that that the legislative branch will have oversight of the executive branch. But somehow, this is all my fault.
I'm not saying it was a good move, I'm saying they put themselves in a situation where there were no good moves available. Once the train carrying toxic chemicals derailed and crashed, they were fucked.
Why did they have to burn it? So instead of polluting the water and ground, which is already happening, they decided to pollute the air too. Why is this perfectly ok by all of the environmentalists? Where's your hero Greta? Where's Al Gore?
It doesn't surprise me that Florida is basically living in the stone age, but it remains a net benefit there and a much bigger net benefit for the majority of the nation to transition away from outdated technologies. Florida is doing just fine. In fact, we are doing so great that people from blue states are moving down here in droves. We even picked up a few House seats while New York, Illinois and California lost House seats. You can be jealous all you want, but people love living down here.
