What's not to love about a game called Super Army War?

Suppose to be like this game I played on the C64, forget its name but it had a cool theme tune and I think it wass based on a TV program.

The game your thinking of is Gemini Wing, either that or SWIV...

In both games you played as a helicopter and a tank, the tank cleared out the ground enemies, helicopter dealt with the sky enemies and it absolutely rocked.

Looks to me like a mix of SILKWORM and UN SQUADRON (or Area 88 for the real special insiders that like a bit of extraterrestrial flavour in their games)

Airwolf was on the ZX Spectrum i think, not C64?

It was on lots of formats, including C64, in the 80's i was a Commodore fanboy and I wouldn't own a ZX81 or anything Sinclair made.

Thats right this game is very very similar to choplifter (excellent arcade game, you can play it on MAME), but here you dont have to save hostages, here you have to help your army to advance and capture enemy bases, very fun game, and very original, you should try this game, its great.

EDIT: there is also a SNES version of choplifter, its called "Choplifter 3", i dont know if there are the one and two....

haha i thought i read it as super army men...! reminded me of how upgraded nes games just add "super" for their snes version.

hhaa the title sounds soo cheesey! it sounds like one of those games that disney would make that noone would buy, so they had to put super in it. (well, i dont think disney would make a war game....) o well, im gonna try it out now.
