Hacking vWii "save file may have not been copied"

Hey! So I just modded my vWii and I tried moving my dolphin Super Mario Galaxy 2 save game to my vWii, Using the system save manager I get the error: "save files may not have been copied" just as the error says, the save file isn't copied. What can I do to fix this? I don't really feel like starting Galaxy 2 all over again. Thanks

The same happened to me when I was trying to import a save (100% completion of spanish patched JP Fatal Frame 4) in my Ntsc Wii U, but on the other hand, it allowed me to import a ntsc save for Resident Evil 4, that unlock spanish subs. So I guess it's a matter of region, maybe?

I might be able to fix the region. it depends on if I have the game to test.

edit: I managed to region change a JP save to American for someone on here a few days ago.
