I downloaded WAD Files to Wii (games) which were made through Crap WAD creator. All the WADs were created successfully. When I downloaded the WAD files to the Wii, they were successfully downloaded. When returning to the Wii Home Menu (where all the Wii channels are showing) and I was on page 4 on my Wii. Pressing the + button on my Wii remote to go to page 1; the Wii freezes with the music still playing.

I turned of my Wii to see if it got better,

I turn the Wii back on, the Healthy and Safety black screen shows up as it's suppose to;

I press the A button; the pressing sound goes on the TV;

and the screen goes black and does nothing else.

-Wii Menu will not show
-No sound is made anywhere, but the Wii remote is still connected to the Wii.

Is there any way this problem can be fixed?

Thank you.

Do you have priiloader and bootmii? And a NAND backup?

Also is there a specific reason you made your own WAD's? What content do they contain?

I don't have priiloader downloaded on wii
Nor bootmii downloaded on Wii
Nor a NAND backup

I used this application called "Crap" to create the WADs because I couldn't find any WADs online. The Crap application generated the wad through the game to become safely downloaded.

The content just says File type: WAD File

Yikes. No backup, no priiloader, and no bootmii, as far a I know, you're out of luck. I may be wrong, but pretty certain.

Have you unplugged the wii yet?

It's been unplugged long enough :)

If it somehow does work by unplugging, highly recommend deleting whatever you installed, getting Bootmii, and Priiloader.
How did you install the WAD's?
How many did you install?
Were they VC, Wiiware, Forwarders? What exactly were the wad's for?

Sorry for repling so late.

I installed with YAWMM (Yet Another Mad Manager Mod)
This Wad Manager allowed me to use mi Wii Motion Plus remote, which is where I installed my WAD Files.

I installed 3 before it crashed. (Deca Sports 3) (Deca Sports 2) (Donkey Kong Country Returns) [All Wii games]

And I have not plugged back the Wii yet.

(I don't know if this is important... the time this occurred was early in 10:00 PM at night. Not exactly at 10, but I left if alone, plugged in as normal all last night.)

Oh wow. Okay, Wii games are NOT meant to be Wad's. I don't know why "Crap" let you make them that way. I unfortunately have no solution, without any brick protection in place. Did you follow a guide when you modded your wii?

To elaborate, Wii memory is 512MB, the games you installed are obviously way over that.

I used a Wii guide from HighTechMan on YouTube, which helped me install the Homebrew Channel and USB Loader GX.

Later, I went on Google in search for ROMs and IOSs and WBFS files for game downloading.

Finding the games desired, I used BitTorrent, WBFS to ISO, 7Zip, and WBFS Manager 3.0 to upload the games on my USB.

Oh boy...Lets go one at a time here. Have you plugged in and tested your wii yet?

Yes. I plugged everything in, then turned the WII on with the Wii remote. The health and safety page turned on; the a button made the sound, but the black screen still shows after the health and safety page.

Sorry, they're regulars around here who seem to know everything (my opinion)
99.9% its done. Like I said with no brick protection in place you can't do much.

Quick question, while looking online, I found this new method called, Speed Demon Data Management.

Have you heard of this method?

(P.S. kudos to those regulars who seem arrogant. )

Sorry, but since you don't have BootMii or Priiloader, your Wii's permabricked. I understand this probably isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I don't have any other answer, otherwise I'd be lying. Besides, it should be fairly common sense to install some form of brick protection before installing anything.

Is it possible to call Nintendo to have my Wii repaired or fixed or replaced?
If I recall correctly, Nintendo doesn't repair Wii consoles anymore.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
