Hi there,
I installed CBHC about 3 or 4 years ago. I can't remember how to get back into the Homebrew channel to install new games.
The WiiU basically just launches into CFW automatically or, from time to time, I just click on the HAXCHI icon on the gamepad (or alternatively the DS VC game that I used to install CBHC, which currently has the exclamation mark icon "Start"). Either way I get a quick black screen with white text telling me that it's launching Haxchi and then it just goes into the WiiU menu. It is so seamless that I can't remember where I have to go now to launch the Homebrew channel!
More specifically, the message that appears on screen for a couple of seconds is:
CHBC v1.6 by FIX94 (DS Title [a long number])
Autobooting
The WiiU works fine after that, but I wanted to install another game with WUPInstaller, and I think I need to access HBL first for this. I've also tried holding down A on boot up but that didn't seem to do anything either.
Can someone please remind me how to do this?
Many thanks.
Hi,You should install the homebrew launcher as a channel, so it's easier to launch it, instead of using haxchi (which you don't have anymore).
do you have an SD card inserted ?
Do you have the homebrew launcher elf to the correct place ? (if I remember correct, should be wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf)
power off your console.
power on, press home button when you see the CBHC info on screen to go into the CBHC menu.
from here, you should be able to launch HBL, if you have it on SD.
ATTENTION : launching HBL doesn't patch the firmware! if you launch HBL from boot, you are NOT in CFW.
if you need to install an unsigned channel, you'll need to launch a firmware patcher first from HBL (for example, sigpatch2HBL !)
sigpatch2HBL is great because it patches the firmware into CFW and goes back to HBL directly. from here, you'll be able to run WUP installer and install the HBL channel.
Then, next time, boot the console normally, and use the new HBL channel when you want to go to HBL.
HBL doesn't patch the firmware, but CBHC already did.
Yes. Other filesystems can not be read from the wii udoes it need to be formatted FAT32?
you need FAT32.
I never saw any app or OS needing the SD card formated as NTFS.
FAT32 or exFAT, but never NTFS. why that format?
anyway, just format as FAT32 and it should fix your problem
if you get any negative error code, here are the meaning :

If you have cbhc, you don't need that. CBHC gives you already signature patches after powering on the console. Are you saying that I would always be able to run those games if I use sigpatch2HBL?

I've decided to set up cheats on my hacked wiiu, I'm playing zombiu and I keep dying lol. How do I set up the cheats? Thanks in advance guys
You found one, I could never do a trick for that game
Just reinstall it. Launch the cbhc installer and you're fine. How am I supposed to reinstall CBHC? Just follow a guide ignoring the fact it was installed already or do I need to follow some special procedure?
No.Is the WiiU hack dead?
If you care about the future, buy a compatible game and never uninstall it. Problem solved.Haxchi and CBHC depend on having a game purchased and associated with the Nintendo account, which will be impossible in the not too distant future when you buy a used console.
The problem is not mine but all those who will buy the WiiU after the Eshop closes will have it.No.
