I would suggest a calus too. but the fact that you have had it for a year kinda says otherwise. Unless you can identify a way that you are constantly rubbing that part of your finger. If it was a calus it would heal and get tougher and such.

It may be a wart of some sort, like a plantar wart. I've had one of those...and it took me a month or so of putting acid on it, digging out the dead parts, putting more acid on it (into the wound) until I basically had a hole in my toe and was sick of pouring acid into it. It was an exercise in really intense pain. The type where you want to cry out but your body is too busy shaking and sweating...haha good times. It never came back tho!

I'd try the freezeaway stuff before you go the route I did...mine was before that product was available.
