Heya! First of all sorry if something like this has already been asked, I did search around on Google and GBATemp for a few minutes but couldn’t find a thread like this.

I’ve just finished modding my Trinity 360 via the Xbox360Ace chip and it works fine, boots up in less than 10 seconds and is still on a low Dash version. (17511)
Since I’m only used to other hacking scenes such as Nintendo or (kind of) Sony I wanted to ask what I should do next? Are there any go-to Homebrew sites/infos I should visit and inform myself about? What are the best sites to get up-to-date Homebrew apps at?

Another thing I want to do is being able to connect my 360 to WiFi without risking a ban of the console. Now I do not plan on playing online, I only want to use it for Emulators and such. In a nutshell I wouldn’t care at all if I didn’t have Xbox Live connectivity turned off at all but I don’t want to get the console banned in case I ever want to go online in the future.

Another thing I saw is that you can’t simply put a HDD into the 360 and expect it to work. Mine came without a hard drive however if it’s possible I’d love to put all my files onto one and use my 360 as a glorified retro station basically :)

Thanks a lot for helping already!

You'll have to install a custom dash.
I've got a tut about installing Freestyle dash (tools are a little outdated but can be found with a bit of googling).

Homebrew on the 360 is extremely limited.
Aside from a few emulators, there's nothing else that other consoles can do better.

Just block Live membership creation and Live access via parental controls on the MS dash.

Harddrive can be upgraded to a 2TB 2.5 inch one.
JTAG/RGH boxes have the HDD security sector restriction removed.

if you want avatar, kinect, media, classic xbox, you need an hdd. then, simply install the official update that matches the dash kernel of your system. that should install all of that on the hdd. @DinohScene probably has a tutorial on that.

Huh... Well since I mostly want to use it as a Retro Station that'd be nice to have at least :) But I rather meant useful Homebrew tools and such, if there are any at all.

Just block Live membership creation and Live access via parental controls on the MS dash.
So it's just that easy? No DNS blocking or modding etc. required just to be safe?

Will try that! Hope it's just a simple task of putting the HDD in and formatting it (or reverse: Format it and then use it) :)

no dns blocking. blocking live access in parental controls is probably the best way to ensure no accidents happen.

yeah, I think you just have to input the serial number of the system when you go to format it on the system, but it's been years since I've done it.

there's not much in terms of useful software. the only one that comes to mind is xm360 to unlock xbla and dlc that's on the system. dashlaunch as well. that will allow some good patches like booting into the hacked dashboard at system startup.

@EpicLPer , btw, some emulators have achievements like using the fast forward button for the snes one, so I'd advise using a different profile with your rgh.

I won't use my MS Account on that XBox anyways, only made a local one which is enough for me :)

Btw. where can I get emulators for it? Is Retroarch maintained for it or does it even exist?

Simple NAND flasher 360.
Ehh... XeLLLaunch... I guess, there's barely any homebrew out there lol.

Yep, input of serial is required to format the drive.

No, DNS blocking isn't needed.
Just restrict Live access in the MS dash.

Retroarch has a build for 360.
You could try Xbins (google it)

not sure about retroarch. it would be amazing if there is. I know there's mednafen, which is a front end like retroarch. it runs okay. most emulators run horribly on the system though. they're like tech demos which haven't been updated in years. I guess it's just due to lack of interest.

Aaaaw :( Oh well, guess my plan of using the 360 as my main emulation machine fell in the water then.
Gotta dig out my Wii U again I guess.

retroarch may run fine as it's mostly the standalone emulators. however, if homebrew is what you want, then you picked the wrong system.

it's still a good investment. you can pretty much play anything, unlock content without licenses, swap discs automatically, control the fan, etc.

That guy will never bother you again or ask you for money again, so take it as a win."
