I am not a fan of soundbite politics, and while I recognise the effectiveness of pictures like those of the OP it does feel awfully American.

In general I would be opposed to blocking porn but care to expand on that any? What content is illegal elsewhere (does this include countries with pretty good freedom of speech type laws?) but still appears within the UK?

I'm guessing he's discussing the more messed up kind of porn that's on the web.

Why the hell would you want to vote for that corrupt twit?

Because some people like to vote for the corrupt.

I hope that witch loses the vote. She's like the British equivalent of Clinton. Violating of basic rights is disgusting, what a vile bitc-- *ahem* witch she is.

From what I'm hearing, she sounds worse.

She's only in power because Cameron chickened out and resigned, I hope she gets overthrown and someone who's actually intelligent gets in power.

You have no idea what you are even talking about, besides her side will win again this time around.

Why do you want that war-mongering bitch to win? How does any of what the OP stating what she'll do be good? Are you blind to not realize what she's proposing ?! Well? Tell me.

All you May supporters are the same  Attitudes like yours are the reason corrupt people are in power, you don't question it, you just go along with it with a sheep mentality. But hey, if you want restricted rights and violation of free speech, by my guest.

Gimme a freaking break.

Technically it was democratical in terms of how she got the house.
But at least it wasn't Boris.

No bueno. At all.

At least here conservatives in the US tend to promote free speech, among their many, many faults (although they're trying to kill net neutrality).

This is absolutely nuts.
I wouldn't say conservatives are. I'm one and I'm all for Net neutrality. It's stupid politicians that are against it.

There are only a few things worse than Clinton in my opinion....
and she may very well be one.

Edit: I'm being Hyperbolic for those who think i'm being serious.

The desire to rid it of all porn speaks to a certain puritan streak and I seldom find those to be productive.

I was just curious as to what they deem messed up stuff. One time I was watching a TV show and some FBI agent tasked with porn cases was detailing all the things he had seen and in his little list was pissing porn. Now it is not my idea of a good time, and following censorship/film ratings in the UK and around the world it seems to bother several of those, but I would not speak it in the same breath as violence and animals.
At the same time I have also seen lots of "so someone posted pornography of children to [insert service], we should ban [insert service]" [insert service] including usenet (a message board protocol predating the internet), torrents, regular old HTTP in one amusing case, loads of TOR and similar services, IRC for an amusing one and I even saw FTP once. Those inclined to make statements like those I pulled up tend also to be those that might make things covered in the previous sentence.

Let's see,

Violation of human rights, including free speech? Check
Censoring things that people don't like to read? Check

Wow, she sounds like an outstanding leader, alright. Take note, for people who vote for her, or support her, you're in for one helluva ride if you let her win. I'm just glad I don't have to vote for her.

Limiting free speech and censoring the internet is the coward's way out, burying their heads in the sand. Or better yet, May has stuck her head so far up her butt, she can't tell the difference.

Even when the government bans things they don't like to protect the thin-skinned, people will always circumvent them.

While I agree with you. Free speech will always have it's limits. True free speech would be being allowed to be racist and not having a jail sentence for it.

I mean it's even more limiting to free speech, censorship on the internet is the coward's way out, May is just being a power-hungry fool, trying to shove her agenda down the citizens' throats. I hope she loses. I feel bad for people who think she's a good leader.

I see free speech as anything that does not insight violence. Example, If someone wants to be a prick or racist, they can be one. They just need to realize if they get beat up and shanked in an alleyway, its their fault.

Why are you avoiding my other questions? Why are you defending that May idiot? You don't even live in the UK. Are you so blind you can't even read what she proposes to do? Of course you are.

Look at the OP, read it, and come back to me with a good argument on why you think she's a good prime minister. Good day.

Censoring the internet is never a good thing, only those thinskinned and cowardly need censorship. Until you can come up with a good reason to support her, cut the May sycophancy crap, it's getting old XD

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
