Including GitHub being blocked, an innocuous source code repository, ooh how dreadful that would be to have open source emulator code easily available to the UK users There are other reasons I don't like May, but I won't get into that here.

Let's not forget big businesses as well. Now, i'm not against businesses in a normal sense. However, ISPs try to tempt customers with certain deals that make it to where this service will be slow while others services (ones that they promote) will be faster. Its dirty to me and should not be allowed.

I am not a fan of soundbite politics, and while I recognise the effectiveness of pictures like those of the OP it does feel awfully American.



In general I would be opposed to blocking porn but care to expand on that any? What content is illegal elsewhere (does this include countries with pretty good freedom of speech type laws?) but still appears within the UK?

Porn in my opinion personally should be blocked globally but i am not a fool and am well aware of the fact that it is way too popular and mainstream to be blocked. At the very least pornography should be VERY hard to find for those that are underage. BUT then again some could say that the parents are responsible for making sure of that.

However, what i was personally referring too was the production and distribution of Child pornography as well as the sharing of such sites. From what i remember i think someone who was a user on this very forum was the host or distributor of a child potentially sex site(again not sure if it was a user from this site or from somewhere else. But that user was blocked and arrested i believe...). But my point is that the government should work harder to prevent the rise of such sites.

But that is not all since i was also referring to the fact that the government should be more focused on blocking and preventing these "live stream killings" and other propaganda that terrorists and other horrible people use with the help of the internet, in order to inflict fear among the general population.

Overall, my point is that there are wayyyyyyyyy too many ways in which terrorists and other like minded individuals, use the internet as a means for violence and generally disturbing stuff. The PM should focus on clamping down on the creators of these sites and apply severe pressure to them in order to prevent unfortunate tragedies from occurring. It would be a lot more productive than the absolute stupidity that the PM is currently considering in light of the recent events that have transpired in London.


EDIT: Forgot to mention the bullying videos that people post online. Why is the PM and her government focusing on that instead of blocking websites like GIT HUB is beyond me.

IIRC the site didn't host child pornography but it did host instructions on how to get access to it.
